interest in NRHP wikiproject
Hi Morogris, I'm happy to see your interest in WikiProject NRHP (wp:NRHP), and that you're experienced, and that you're interested in Texas! As you can see from the shaded U.S. maps and the sortable table on "progress" in the WikiProject's wp:NRHPPROGRESS page, Texas needs the most. I for one am happy to help in editing/developing NRHP articles almost always whenever I am asked. So if you want to start creating or developing more Texas ones, feel free to ping me. There is advice at wp:NRHPHELPTX regarding Texas-specific sources within nation-wide wp:NRHPHELP help/resources page. You don't have to absorb everything, just start somewhere. Happily, NRHP listing is generally accepted as establishing Wikipedia-notability for articles. Please do feel free to contact me at my Talk page, or by pinging, and also feel free to post comments, questions, anything at wt:NRHP. cheers, --Doncram (talk, contribs) 07:43, 23 February 2023 (UTC)
- @Doncram: Hello! Thank you for your message and guidance. I've only completed one article in this topic (Crocheron–McDowall House) but I enjoyed it a lot and plan to work on more. I've nominated it to GA and now I'm working on expanding and taking Bastrop State Park to GA status too. Please reach out if you have any questions or suggestions. Cheers, Morogris (✉ • ✎) 05:15, 24 February 2023 (UTC)
- Hi, great! BTW I had noticed the Crocheron-McDowall House article and that it was in Bastrop, and i chose to edit in Fowler House (Bastrop, Texas), one of a few Bastrop NRHP articles which are very short on sourcing.
- I encountered the fact that the NRHP sourcing for Bastrop is kind of confusing. There are (at least) three versions of the National Register of Historic Places' study "Bastrop Historic and Architectural Multiple Resource Area". Fowler House and many/most other Bastrop area NRHPs were listed as a result of that study. But note,
- 1) This version downloadable from the National Park Service has just 27 pages
- 2)this version from the National Archives which can also be accessed at here has 312 pages, and
- 3) this version from the Texas Historical Society has ... i don't know how many pages, it is still downloading for me, slowly.
- I am still trying to figure out how best to reference the study in the Fowler House article. It's maybe unfortunate for you if it is Bastrop area places you want to work on first, that this situation is fairly different than for most NRHPs which just have a simple registration document and no associated big study. Or maybe it would make it easy to address a bunch together the same way. --Doncram (talk, contribs) 05:39, 24 February 2023 (UTC)
- @Doncram: Interesting, thanks for highlighting this. I was able to access the 3rd source and it has 312 pages as well. I compared the last pages for each and they match, so maybe they're the same report?
- I'll take a stab at the Fowler House too in the next few days. I was in the area a couple of weeks ago and took pictures of the house. I couldn't get a straight shot from the middle due to the sunlight, but I'll nonetheless upload the ones I have to Commons. The house is greyish green now and is beautiful.
- I may be back in the area and could stop by the public library to see if they have more information on this property (and others) that is not available on the web. I was told that the local courthouse also has property records and other docs of these properties, but I'm not sure if we can cite them here since they are primary sources. Good article nominations
Hi Morogris, thank you for your assistance in reviewing at WP:Good article nominations. When you pass a nomination, please remember to add it to the appropriate list of Wikipedia:Good articles. All steps that should be taken are listed at WP:GAN/I#PASS. Please let me know if you have any questions. Best regards, CMD (talk) 15:28, 26 February 2023 (UTC)
- @Chipmunkdavis: - Thanks for the kind reminder. I just added Irish nationality law to the "Law" subsection. I won't forget for future reviews. Please review and let me know if anything is okay now. Thanks! Morogris (✉ • ✎) 16:05, 27 February 2023 (UTC)
- Looks great, afraid you'll know more than I will about which sub-category it belongs to! CMD (talk) 16:10, 27 February 2023 (UTC)

Sources
It appears that in November 2022, you added many "source needed" citations to the Coptic Orthodox Church article. It also appears that you left the excessive citations note at the end of the first paragraph. I encourage you to search to your best effort for source information to support the content before you resort to a "source needed" note. It is best that we make every effort to support content and not simply point fingers when proper sources have not been offered. You may have done that, and if so, I thank you very much for your efforts. Also, every editor has the same level of authority and responsibility when it comes to editing. Instead of putting an "excessive citations" note, please take it upon yourself to delete the sources that are unnecessary instead of leaving it for someone else to do. If I have incorrectly identified you as the author of those notes, I wholeheartedly apologize. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. All the best. MarydaleEd (talk) 23:30, 11 March 2023 (UTC)
- @MarydaleEd: Thanks for the note. I generally do add and/or delete sources when I feel comfortable doing that (mostly when it concerns my field of interest/expertise), but the Coptic Orthodox Church is a topic I'm not familiar with at all. I added the tags because was article was nominated to "Good Article" status, and the burden of proof is on the nominator who originally contributed to the information. The issue was there were paragraphs/sections completely unsourced (see here), and that would have been grounds for immediate rejection (which I didn't do). GA nominators are expected to keep an eye on their nominated articles and no one fixed the tags for 2 months. Morogris (✉ • ✎) 14:15, 13 March 2023 (UTC)
Featured article candidacy for Irish nationality law
Hi Morogris, thanks for your review of the Irish nationality law article last month. Since then, I've nominated it as an FAC and was wondering if you'd be interested in chiming in with any feedback on that review as well. It's gotten a support so far but it would be great to keep the ball rolling on it. Much appreciated, Horserice (talk) 04:52, 5 April 2023 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Crocheron–McDowall House
The article Crocheron–McDowall House you nominated as a good article has failed ; see Talk:Crocheron–McDowall House for reasons why the nomination failed. If or when these points have been taken care of, you may apply for a new nomination of the article. Message delivered by ChristieBot, on behalf of Maile66 -- Maile66 (talk) 22:02, 22 April 2023 (UTC)
- @Morogris:. I just left some added notes for you on the article's talk page at the bottom of the failed nomination. If this is what you want to do, it certainly is worth another shot. It just takes a little nitpicking type of work to get it done. Go for it, if that's what you want. — Maile (talk) 23:29, 22 April 2023 (UTC)
- @Maile66: Thanks for the review. Is there a way where I can compare to two texts and see what's matching? I tried Earwig but it won't pull up the PDFs. If you have a site where I can look at both that would help tremendously. Definitely room for improvement with these tweaks. Thanks again, Morogris (✉ • ✎) 19:09, 24 April 2023 (UTC)
- @Morogris: Earwig is not what I used, but rather a manual word-for-word reading from the nomination form at the Texas Historic Sites Atlas. Go to https://atlas.thc.state.tx.us/Details/2078003357 and click on the tab Files. That will bring up a link to National Register Nomination File - click there. That should bring up a PDF of the original nomination form. No page numbers, but scroll down to "8 Significance" and begin reading manually. That's what I did. What really popped out at me are the last three paragraphs in the History section seem copied entirely from the last two paragraphs there. Going through the article's edit history, it looks like the copyvios happened before you started editing the article. But I think you need to go through that whole nomination form page by page, almost word for word. Good luck with that. — Maile (talk) 20:00, 24 April 2023 (UTC)
- @Maile66: Ah, gotcha. Now I see what you're saying. You're absolutely right about those last two paragraphs. I'll make sure to give them a good copyedit in the next few weeks and also look at other sections. I'll likely request someone else to take a look too and/or see if I can copy the text from that source and compare it to the one in the article. Thanks again for your thorough review. Hello Morogris, hope you doing good. Want to tell you user Yoninah, guided me in some of articles I worked for copyedit, GAN and DYK. I was inactive in wikipedia for last 2 years and so. Yesterday, I created an article India national football team at the Asian Games which I am planning for GAN or may be FA nom and DYK for sure. But for copyedit the first name came to my mind is Yoninah, she is very good in that but as soon as I reached her talk page, I got to know the sad story. There I found your condolences and seems you too worked with her various project. So, can I ask you if you do a quick copyedit on the article mentioned above. It will be great help for me. Thank you. Let me know. Drat8sub (talk) 07:27, 29 August 2023 (UTC)

McKinney Roughs Nature Park
Wow! That is an awesome article you wrote, so thorough and well researched. I made a few edits to the article, what I thought were small grammar errors and added a few wikilinks. The only factual thing I changed was you documented Cedar Creek as a town and it is an unincorporated community (I don't believe Texas has a legal "town" designation. Everything incorporated in the state is a type of city). You're welcome to change the edits back if I didn't get it right.
Thanks for using my image. The article is large enough to have more images. If you didn't find any other images you liked, I can go to Mckinney Roughs and take some more if there is something specific you are looking for.
I don't have any ideas about new articles, but if you are working on an article about the Austin area (or other areas of Texas) and need new images (or updated ones) let me know, and I'll see what I can do. Again, great article. Regards Nv8200pa talk 20:15, 31 December 2023 (UTC)
- @Nv8200pa: Thanks for your edits! And thank you for letting me know about the "town" v "unincorporated community", I was not aware. I'll be adding more of your pictures to the article later before it makes it to DYK.
- I'll be working on McKinney Falls in the upcoming days/weeks so I'll let you know when its done so you can check it out and add images where you think they are appropriate. Thanks again for your help! Morogris (✉ • ✎) 20:27, 31 December 2023 (UTC)
