Speedy deletion of Douglas Carver (chaplain)
[edit]A tag has been placed on Douglas Carver (chaplain) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Douglas Carver (chaplain)
[edit]Thanks for contributing to Wikipedia. The reason that this article was deleted was because it did not meet the standard of notability, which is used here to determine whether a subject is of encyclopedic importance. While Carver may well be a good person, the article did not assert how he met this standard (and did not appear to have the potential to in the near future).
Please take a look at the notability page for more details, or drop by my talk page if you need more help. You may also find Wikipedia:Introduction helpful. Thanks. Tijuana Brass (talk) 16:28, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
- Just goes to show how quickly edits can happen here - when I originally viewed the article, it didn't include the most recent detail of his position as major general and chief of chaplains, both of which help assert notability. Someone else pointed that out on my talk page, so I've undeleted the page. Sorry for the hassle. Let me know if you need any help. Tijuana Brass (talk) 16:38, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
