The latest attempt, therefore, to change our national land policy is a challenge which can't be laid aside by those that who have faith in the liberty-loving farmers who cultivate the soil. They rear the families that support and people America's largest cities. The fight against the political power of corporate monopoly demands an extra effort from the unorganized majority of American cities. The same fight must be waged on the land.

- Friends Honor Newest Bishop
- Spokesman-Review
- March 14, 1929
- In Spokane, Washington (last night March 13) friends gather in Knights of Columbus hall to say goodbye. Armstrong was former assistant pastor at Our Lady of Lourdes Cathedral. The "newly
consecratednamed bishop said, "this reception surpasses my wildest dreams. I have the deepest love for sunny old Spokane and all the people particularly the Knights of Columbus. I have always been happy for what I received from them." He spoke about being inducted into their order and being a "Chaplain of the Order". Might be better as citations but plenty of quotes here especially about becoming bishop of Sacramento. Article says he celebrated a pontifical mass and will visit Yakima where he spent 15 year. He is to be "enthroned" next week.
