Hi I was wondering if you could draftify Kamura Fujimura and Yasutaka Yano instead of deleting them I dont know how to do it please. Shadow345110 (talk) 20:06, 23 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Yano's page has been moved. Fujimura's name is Kai Fujimura (ふじむら かい in hiragana). Draft:Kai Fujimura already exists. I encourage you to read the pro-wrestling WikiProject's style guideline at WP:PW/BIO. Huge wikitables with every match a wrestler ever fought are unnecessary. Prose listing every match a wrestler ever fought is unnecessary. MordecaiXLII (talk) 08:31, 24 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you I was wondering if you can help with Kai Fujimura please as you seem to know alot I don't really get much time anymore as I am focusing on school. Shadow345110 (talk) 08:49, 24 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Question.

[edit]

Hi can I take the deletion off if I start trying to fix Kamura Fujimura or am I not allowed. Shadow345110 (talk) 10:52, 27 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

ITN recognition for Yutaka Yoshie

[edit]

On 14 March 2024, In the news was updated with an item that involved the article Yutaka Yoshie, which you updated. If you know of another recently created or updated article suitable for inclusion in ITN, please suggest it on the candidates page. PFHLai (talk) 01:01, 14 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Salut Mordecai,

I've seen that you've modified the yokozuna list, it's now very clean. However, I'd like to make a couple of comments about some of the choices you've made. Firstly, is it really necessary to specify the country of origin of foreign wrestlers when you've chosen to insert the flag-link, which already shows a foreign nationality? What's more, I don't think it's relevant to create a link to the heya for wrestlers from the Edo and Meiji periods, as we're not talking about the same incarnations of these stables... Finally (et promis après j'arrête), I wanted to check with you whether it's really relevant to copy the list from the official JSA site for the places of origin, I think it's more relevant to mention the provinces rather than the prefectures (which is the case when quoted in the biographies). - OtharLuin (talk) 07:02, 3 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

These are questions I've asked myself doing this (except for the redundancy of the countries and flags, didn't think about that). Basically, my process was "the only source for all of this information was already the official JSA list anyway, so unless better sources can be provided, I'll use the JSA list for consistency in order to remove what are basically unsourced claims".
For the countries of origin, they are indeed redundant with the flags and could be removed (again, this is just how the JSA lists the shusshin in written form). For the heya, I've tried to keep it consistent with the lineages, but I might have been mistaken for some of them. For the last part, I'm not quite sure what makes more sense between keeping the historical places or adjusting them to correspond with their present day counterparts. Again, lacking a clear understanding on what are considered trustworthy sources for the biographies, I ended up using the JSA list.
I think a good compromise that would improve the overall quality of the list as a Wikipedia article would be to syncretize the official list (and recognize it as such) with individual references for each yokozuna. MordecaiXLII (talk) 08:36, 3 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Michael Flatley

[edit]

Thank you for correcting me on the Flatley coat of arms. It's hard to know what is correct as that entire section has no citation. Are you aware of somewhere that a reliable citation could be found? Also, there is now a discrepancy between the description of the escutcheon and the symbolism. pgbrown (talk) 07:39, 23 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I've managed to find the arms grant on Facebook here. I couldn't find it on a more official source, though. Also I totally missed the "pile" in the symbolism section. MordecaiXLII (talk) 08:18, 23 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Shikimori Kazuki ? Source ?

[edit]

Hello! I noticed your edit on the gyoji article. I have nothing to say about the changes as they are, on the contrary, I think they are a plus. But what's the source for Shikimori Kazuki? For an article that I've upgraded to GA status, it would be good if this information could be sourced. I couldn't find anything about this in my research when I rewrote the article. - OtharLuin (talk) 09:20, 8 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The source is already on the page, it's the official list of gyoji on the JSA website. MordecaiXLII (talk) 10:34, 8 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I don't think we're on the same page here. Nothing on the gyoji list specifically mentions Kazuki being the only one to use black. - OtharLuin (talk) 11:56, 8 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Here you can see he's the only one; it's even mentionned on the jp wiki page but I guess it's correct to say that there is no particular mention on the page itself. Kazuki just happens to be the only active gyoji wearing black. MordecaiXLII (talk) 12:08, 8 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Two things. Indeed, the simple appearance of an image in an official list does not constitute a source reliable of information. Secondly, I've just had a look at Wikipedia.ja and the mention isn't sourced either. I don't think they're wrong about Kazuki being the only one currently wearing black but 1/it's not sourced and 2/your phrasing on Wikipedia.eng suggests that's always the case.
For these reasons I think it's best to withdraw the note, as all the sources I found mention that non-sekitori wear green or black indifferently. - OtharLuin (talk) 12:16, 8 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed. I've removed the note. MordecaiXLII (talk) 12:29, 8 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I noticed heavy editing made by you in the List of Ironman Heavymetalweight Champions article. There seems to be an issue with the footer navboxes as they're currently not correctly displayed. Someone added the "<-- -->" not-show template which I removed, but the issue is somehow still there. Can you please take a look and see what can be done? Thanks! The page is exceeding the expansion depth. There is a discussion open right now in Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Professional wrestling. MordecaiXLII (talk) 18:31, 24 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
