Chris Ryan Lauer moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Chris Ryan Lauer, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Randykitty (talk) 09:25, 14 January 2023 (UTC)
- Please address the problems with this draft and then wait for an experienced editor to move it to article space. --Randykitty (talk) 09:27, 14 January 2023 (UTC)
- After I explicitly told you to leave it to a more experienced editor to move this to article space, you still went ahead and did it yourself. Well, have it your way. As you see below, it has now been proposed for deletion and I guarantee you that if somebody removes the PROD tag, this will go to WP:AFD. --Randykitty (talk) 15:35, 14 January 2023 (UTC)

[edit]Please stop. If you continue to remove Articles for deletion notices or comments from articles and Articles for deletion pages, as you did at Chris Ryan Lauer, you may be blocked from editing. Randykitty (talk) 15:43, 14 January 2023 (UTC)
- Apologies, I'm new to this. Montlakesleep (talk) 20:42, 14 January 2023 (UTC)
- We all make mistakes in the beginning, the important thing is to learn from them. Creating a new article is one of the more difficult things to do on WP. I recommend that you first start editing existing articles in an area that interests you. Don't make huge changes, in the article history you can usually see that the existing text is the results of several or even many editors collaborating. Don't get upset when somebody reverts one of your edits, but try to understand (or ask the editor) why this was done. Read some (or, preferably, most) of the guidelines and policies linked to on top of this page (I'll put a "welcome template" there in a minute). Don't hesitate to ask if you don't understand something, things here can get pretty arcane, but generally editors are willing to go out of their way to help a new editor. Hope this helps. --Randykitty (talk) 00:10, 15 January 2023 (UTC)

Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Montlakesleep. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam#External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 01:26, 15 January 2023 (UTC)
- I posted this notice because all of your editing activity is focused on one article. Most editors edit over a wide range of articles, on different subjects, so I'm posting a notice in case you have a personal or financial connection to the article subject.
- If you have questions about editing on Wikipedia, please bring them to the Teahouse. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 01:28, 15 January 2023 (UTC)
