Article talk pages
[edit]Please check the guidelines at Wikipedia:Talk page guidelines. You should avoid altering or removing the talk page comments of other editors with very few exceptions. Also, new talk page post should be made at the bottom of the page. I'll watch list this page in the event you have any questions. Tiderolls 18:33, 17 April 2019 (UTC)
- My comments are correct and it is counterproductive to revert the talk page to the previous revision. When incorrect material is the subject of lengthy discussion that is five years old, it is an impediment to readers. No one will bother to sort through all the text that I deleted, nor should they have to. I see from the talk page guidelines that there is an acceptable way to clean up pages so I will look into that. THX.

- It's also best practice to keep conversations centralized. Talk page post retention, in the main, is important. Yes, the comments can be archived but wholesale deletion is not the answer. Tiderolls 18:56, 17 April 2019 (UTC)
OK. "Archive" is fine because that should mean that the text won't appear but it can be readily accessed. I'll sandbox the page on my computer and see what I can come up with that will be acceptable. THX.

- See Help:Archiving a talk page. Do not change the talk page until you have the archive system in place. Tiderolls 19:13, 17 April 2019 (UTC)
