I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. License tagging for File:517b3e4e30c63.image.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:517b3e4e30c63.image.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 05:30, 24 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I received a notification that you had posted material that was taken verbatim from this source. This is seen as a copyright issue and plagiarism, even if you were to include the original source as a citation. Always be careful when writing article content - a good way to avoid doing this is to take notes while reading and write your article from those notes. As such, the content has been deleted from the article.

Unless the material is explicitly marked as falling into the public domain or was released under a compatible Creative Commons license, it should be assumed that the content is copyrighted in a way that would prohibit it from being used verbatim elsewhere. It's always best to write things in your own words, as this can help prevent issues like this from arising. I would like for you to review the module on plagiarism and copyright.

There also seems to have been a copyright issue with image. With any images, always assume that the content is copyrighted in a way that would prohibit it from being uploaded to Commons, even if the copyright is missing or the file was uploaded to a public social media site such as Twitter. As far as uploading directly to Wikipedia goes, the site only allows us to upload images of people if it's deemed to be absolutely necessary to the understanding of the article. It's really difficult to make this argument for any article but especially biographies, as the general consensus is that a photograph of the person isn't enough of a necessity for it to pass under the fair use guidelines. I would like for you to review the training module on uploading images and media as well. Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 14:09, 1 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi-Wikipedia has strict guidelines about copyright violations. I had to revert some of the edits in the Moses Harrison article. Please be careful-thank-RFD (talk) 21:15, 2 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
