How do I capitalize my name in the top text woth
[edit]How do I take complete control of this page? Thank you! -KOKOMO, The Queen Of Queer Soul MommaBaker60 (talk) 12:52, 1 March 2021 (UTC)
- People who are the subject of articles have no control over the articles. All that matters is that editors provide references when adding content. Secondly, people who are subjects of articles are prohibited from editing the articles directly. The proper path is to go to the Talk page of the article and make a request there to add or change content. The request must be specific, as in add this, or change this. A non-involved editor will then decide to accept or deny the proposed changes. David notMD (talk) 10:30, 4 March 2021 (UTC)
- If you have an acquaintance who also has a Wikipedia account, that person could take a photo of you and add it to the article. David notMD (talk) 10:38, 4 March 2021 (UTC)
Nominated for deletion
[edit]The article Kokumo was proposed for deletion. Given what you wrote to Gråbergs Gråa Sång, it appears this is your wish. However, I deleted the proposed, and instead recommended that any keep/delete debate take place at AfD, which is a more formal process that allows for comments on both sides. Stuff
[edit]Wikipedia editors are rigid about lots of stuff. White, black, does not matter. Trans, cis, does not matter. Articles about people do not 'belong' to the people they are about. No 'own.' In fact, subjects of articles are strongly advised to never edit the articles that are about them. Not add stuff. Not delete stuff. Basically, if an article about you exists, it is because a person thought you and your career were Wikipedia-notable. Other editors amended it. Stuff can be true, but belongs in the article only if verified by references. This can be VERY annoying to people who know what is written about themselves is either wrong or incomplete. Wikipedia has a 'be polite' culture. Ok to dispute content, but not to insult or criticize other editors.
Right now, Kokumo is proposed for deletion, and the creating editor - still an active editor - has been notified. That editor (or any other) can contest the Proposed. However, the next step might be to nominate the article at Articles for Deletion, a more formal process. You can comment on the Talk page of the article now, and at AfD if it goes there. Oh, and only one account. You can't be MB and KOKUMO. Continue with one or the other, but not both. David notMD (talk) 15:13, 4 March 2021 (UTC)
- Now at AfD. David notMD (talk) 20:01, 4 March 2021 (UTC)
- Heading toward deletion. David notMD (talk) 13:45, 9 March 2021 (UTC)
Wikipedia has a policy that no one, ever, 'owns' an article. That includes articles about that person. As an encyclopedia, it cannot be any other way. Wikipedia frowns on, but does not prohibit, autobiography (see WP:AUTO. However, if a person succeeds in creating an article about themselves, all (and I mean all) other editors would be able to make valid changes to the article. By 'valid' I mean that those changes would be need to be supported by reliable source references. David notMD (talk) 13:45, 9 March 2021 (UTC)

Kokumo article
[edit]ClueBot (an automated program, not a person) deleted your comment about keeping the article, because it was in the wrong place. I rescued it and put it on the Talk page of the article. At this point in time, the deletion process looks to be heading toward deletion. Soon, an Administrator will make a final decision. If you truly have had a change of heart about there being an article about you over which you would not have control, then I recommend you copy the existing content to your own computer before it vanishes. You can then use the Your First Article process and Article Wizard at WP:YFA to create a draft, using the salvaged content. Wikipedia frowns on autobiography (see WP:AUTO) but does not prohibit it. I suggest you do this via account MommaBaker60. Given that Wikipedia considers writing about oneself a conflict of interest, you will need to make a statement on your User page that you are KOKUMO, and are writing about yourself.
I am sure that this has been very frustrating. Another choice is to let the article be deleted, and focus on social media that allows control of content. David notMD (talk) 11:03, 11 March 2021 (UTC)
