Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Momer313, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Zenaidy Castro, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's content policies and may not be retained. In short, the topic of an article must be notable and have already been the subject of publication by reliable and independent sources.

Please review Your first article for an overview of the article creation process. The Article Wizard is available to help you create an article, where it will be reviewed and considered for publication. For information on how to request a new article that can be created by someone else, see Requested articles. If you are stuck, come to the Teahouse, where experienced Wikipedians can help you through the processes.

A tag has been placed on Zenaidy Castro requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Hello Momer, the article on Castro appears to be too promotional still, for example while sentences such as "her artworks show signs of marvellous composition, conceptual alignment and subtle aesthetics. Not only they push the boundaries of modernism and contemporary but also ideate through her early art academics and inherent connection to the subject" might fit in a journal's discussion of her, Wikipedia strives for sort of a hyper-neutal tone which just summarizes what reliable secondary sources have said. From a quick Google search, I couldn't see that Castro has received significant coverage from independent sources. – Thjarkur (talk) 22:12, 24 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I completely understand the contestations that have been raised against this page, although I do not completely agree. I would not go out on the limb and say that she is the most renowned photographer in the world, because she is not. Although, I have seen quite a few pages on Wikipedia that showcase lesser known people, places and ideas, and for me that is a brilliant thing as it adds to knowledge on niche subjects. The creation of Zenaidy Castro's page was done in that regard, as black and white photography is on the decline. Of course, I would appreciate if adminstrators recommend me with possible edits that can remove problems with the page, instead of calling for a complete deletion.Momer313 (talk) 22:41, 24 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Your account has been blocked indefinitely for advertising or promotion and violating the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use. This is because you have been making promotional edits to topics in which you have a financial stake, yet you have failed to adhere to the mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a form of conflict of interest (COI) editing which involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is strictly prohibited. Using this site for advertising or promotion is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia.

If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, please read our guide to appealing blocks to understand more about unblock requests, and then add the text {{unblock|reason=your reason here ~~~~}} at the end of your user talk page. For that request to be considered, you must:

  • Confirm that you have read and understand the Terms of Use and paid editing disclosure requirements.
  • State clearly how you are being compensated for your edits, and describe any affiliation or conflict of interest you might have with the subjects you have written about.
  • Describe how you intend to edit such topics in the future.
