File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Hannover Fairgrounds.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Sasikiran (talk) 18:11, 16 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Telehealth.gif. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the image under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 19:08, 16 January 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. (ESkog)(Talk) 19:08, 16 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Edit tests

[edit]

I notice that you are making lots and lots of little changes to CeBIT. Rather than perform all of these little tests in the main article space, may I suggest that you copy the article to a private page (say User:Moenni01/CeBIT), and perform the tests there. Then, when the page is to your satisfaction you can copy it back to the main article space. This will make it easier to track the history of the article. While you're working on it, you can place an {{inuse}} tag on the page so other editors know you're active with it and can contact you before making any changes themselves. Please stop

[edit]

Please stop uploading images from outside web sites and claiming them to be your own work. These copyright violations have been deleted from Wikipedia, and further such uploads may result in your being blocked from editing. (ESkog)(Talk) 19:29, 19 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re: CeBIT images

[edit]

If the owner of these images has released the rights to them, then you should have someone with the authority to release the images (or do it yourself, if you have such authority) send an e-mail to permissions-en@wikimedia.org stating clearly what images are being released and what license they should be released under. The situation will then be handled by one of our OTRS volunteers, who are very skilled at working with copyright release requests. (ESkog)(Talk) 20:08, 19 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about the confusion - I just saw that you already had a ticket with our permissions folks about these web sites. It was on the talk page of the article, but that should cover the images as well. I'll undelete them. (ESkog)(Talk) 12:37, 20 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits

[edit]

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. CeBIT Advertising

[edit]

The entire CeBIT article reads as if it came from a marketing brochure. It contains extensive superlatives that either aren't sourced or can't be sourced. The article makes heavy use of weasel words and glowing reviews of CeBIT, and does not read from a neutral point of view. In all honesty, it's a perfect candidate for speedy deletion (via {{db-spam}}). The entire article needs an extensive rewrite from someone who has a neutral point of view on the subject. I don't know what the copyright problem was secretly hidden in OTRS, but it definitely reads like it was copy and pasted directly from CeBIT's marketing material. —GregChant (talk) 22:43, 7 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (Image:California Partner State.gif)

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading Image:California Partner State.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk) 21:54, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
