Blockquotes

[edit]

Using blockquotes is not only acceptable html code on Mortimer Adler, it is preferred because using a colon only indents the left margin, while blockquoting indents both margins. (see Wikipedia:How to edit a page#Examples) --Blainster 23:59, 30 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the information and the head's up. I'm sure you had good reasons for using the blockquotes. My own preference is for a flush-right margin for quoted material, but indented margins are good as well. modify 17:25, 1 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Template

[edit]

Hi Modify, I actually like your template. I think a combination old/new template would work. Maybe as a compromise, it would be your fonts, text, and old width, colours. I'll try a new version tonight, and see what happens. Once again, thanks for trying to improve the template. -- Jeff3000 18:36, 5 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Jeff3000, that's encouraging to hear. Let's see what you come up with. modify 15:41, 6 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

Hey Modify, Your blue version of the Baha'i template is now active. Thanks for the help. -- Jeff3000 13:20, 15 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, Jeff3000, for acting on that. I was a way for a little while. modify 13:53, 15 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A4W Reactor

[edit]

I reverted your broken links and if you'd like to discuss, let's bring it here. -- RevRagnarok Talk Contrib Reverts 12:51, 17 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please see my reply. As a friendly suggestion, you may wish to avoid using a vandalism tool to make such a revert, and do it by hand instead. This particular tool adds the user's name to a log and suggests that the original edit was vandalism, which, in this case, was clearly not the case. modify 13:15, 17 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your edit to Human body

[edit]

I wonder if perhaps you were a little short in your examination of the "See Also" section of Human body, which you deleted with edit summary "remove joke categories". Unfortunately you deleted all the see also links, including obviously valid ones such as Body language. Please be a little more selective, or at least use the talk page to propose ones to delete? It is obvious that some should be deleted, like body thetan was at some point. :-) Shenme 03:39, 17 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for drawing my attention to the hasty removal of good categories. I'll try to be more selective next time! modify 06:37, 17 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hawaii, USA

[edit]

I think that the "USA" should have been left where it was in the "Greeneville" article. The way I look at it, some kid in Nigeria who just got his $100 laptop might not be all that familiar with Hawaii. It's a thoroughness thing, a better-safe-than-sorry thing. Also, it seems a little presumptuous of Americans to assume that everybody knows all about things American. How many Americans know what Kyushu is, for example? --Milkbreath (talk) 16:51, 11 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Edits of Enterprise Architecture article

[edit]

Hello. On 20 June, you made a number of edits to the Enterprise Architecture article. Some were good, but some introduced incorrect or misleading statements about Enterprise Architecture into the article. You did not discuss your additionsn the discussion page.

I plan to make full edits to the article to try to remove the inaccuracies that have been added since April, and that will include your edits in June. Please return to the article sometime soon to review the changes. Please use the discussion page for anything that is non-grammatical. --Nickmalik (talk) 16:28, 20 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free files in your user space

[edit]

Hey there Modify, thank you for your contributions. I am a bot, alerting you that non-free files are not allowed in user or talk space. I removed some files I found on User:Modify/BladeLogic. In the future, please refrain from adding fair-use files to your user-space drafts or your talk page.

  • See a log of files removed today here.

Thank you, -- DASHBot (talk) 05:00, 3 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi Modify,

Just a heads-up that it's not a good idea to delete a reference (as opposed to a dot point under External links) just because a URL isn't working. Often such links can be recovered (eg), but even if they can't, they're still useful to readers and editors who want to know where the info in an article came from. WP:DEADREF gives some options for dealing with dead links.

Cheers, Adrian J. Hunter(talkcontribs) 08:50, 3 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Beyond that, a reference with a dead link is still a valid reference. The purpose of a reference is to document what the source of a statement was. Whether that source is still available online is irrelevant. I reverted you again at Electromagnetic radiation, and started a discussion on the statement you are questioning at talk:Electromagnetic radiation. Let's discuss it there.--Srleffler (talk) 06:20, 21 June 2012 (UTC)--Srleffler (talk) 06:20, 21 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
