I checked the page I have on my watchlist, KCTB-LP, and it doesn't have a license either anymore. We may need to check the remainder of the pages for current licenses and the ones that have Wiki pages just mark them as "archival" as I did with WDUF. - NeutralHomer • Talk • 04:50, 8 February 2010 (UTC)

I added the Category:Defunct radio stations in the United States to WDUF; it's useful for this sort of situation. Trying to find all the stations where the license has expired is a needle/haystack situation. Tough row to hoe... Mlaffs (talk) 05:06, 8 February 2010 (UTC)

Can you help in sorting out a squabble?

Hi Mlaffs, I wonder if you'd be kind enough to take another look at recent events on The Wave 96.4 FM. If you check out the edit history, you'll see evidence of a protracted, slow-burning battle between a couple of editors and possibly WP:OWN issues. It's usually courteous to inform editors involved in such a dispute if you're going to intervene, Pondle. Perhaps someone could explain to User:Jonny7003 how WP:SOURCE applies, and that if I challenge unsourced/unverifiable material, s/he does not have the right to revert that edit without explanation. WWZE-LP Call Sign Change

Thanks — there's a call sign actions report that they put out every six weeks or so. Every few months, I'll remember that it's out there, go pull down the latest ones, and run through them against the site. Most of the moves have already been done by someone or another, but every once in a while, something will still be at the old call sign or someone will have done the move incorrectly (put a '-AM' on a call sign, or a '-FM' where one isn't needed). Unfortunately, the ones that often haven't been done yet are the ones that take the most time, like straight swaps. Mlaffs (talk) 14:02, 24 February 2010 (UTC)

KGSR

Your edits concerning KGSR and KLZT are incorrect. KGSR is still broadcasting. All that happened was they changed the frequency from 107.1 to 93.3 to better match the listening area. TheMindsEye (talk) 02:12, 28 February 2010 (UTC)

I understand what you're saying. However, radio station articles on Wikipedia work based on the FCC license. From an FCC perspective, the station that was known as KGSR at 107.1 changed its call sign to KLZT. Similarly, the station at 93.3 known as KDHT changed its call sign to KGSR. The history of the article belongs with the license, not the call sign, and that's achieved by moving the actual article to the new call sign.

For an example of what I mean, see this link to the FCC's website, which is the licensing record for KGSR at 93.3. If you click on the "Call Sign Changes" link about 2/3 of the way down the page, you'll see the history of how the call sign for that license has changed. Mlaffs (talk) 02:18, 28 February 2010 (UTC)
