Call sign

FYI, a station call sign in Canada doesn't include the -FM suffix. See North American call sign#Canada. +mt 20:42, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

Actually, no — it's just the opposite. All FM stations in Canada use the -FM suffix (see the sixth paragraph of the link you provided). What the first paragraph is trying to say is that Canadian stations use three, four, or five character call signs, but you don't count the -FM or -TV suffixes as part of those three, four, or five characters. Actually, completely coincidence. I've been going through each of the frequencies one by one to clean up the disambiguation pages — at the same time, I've been clicking through to each article, adding project tags to talk pages, fixing call signs in infoboxes and article ledes, moving articles to correct names, etc. It happened that the 94.1 FM page is the one I'm working on right now. CBCT

I was actually surprised by the question at first, because I didn't realize it had ever been moved to just CBCT in the first place — it used to be at CBCT-TV, with the claim that because of the colocated FM it was the rare CBC O&O that actually used the -TV suffix. But that claim doesn't seem to mesh with the Recnet entry, which is at plain old unsuffixed CBCT. So yeah, I'd go ahead with a move to (TV). Bearcat (talk) 15:27, 13 March 2009 (UTC)

KCEL

Just wanted to let you know, I see you moved KCEL to KMVE. KCEL still exists, just on a different frequency. Have everything fixed with how it should be. I put a hat note for KCEL on the KMVE page, which is how it should be. KMVE and KCEL are a total different format. Just wanted you to be aware. Oh, man, I could keep you busy for weeks. Actually, I just have seven frequencies left to go, and then the list I've been building of all of the missing radio station articles will be complete. There are literally hundreds of stations in that list that appear on dab pages, and a number of those dab pages will actually be able to gotten rid of as soon as the radio station article exists (dabbing with an airport, for example). Hey, thanks man. That's perfect, and loads easier than searching through each daily release. Maybe I'll make it the sort of thing I try to catch up on a regular basis when these come out, rather than daily — I do a monthly update on the lists of companies listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange, and that works out pretty well. CBOQ

To be honest, I find Spectrum Direct a total pain in the backside to use, so I pretty much never touch it unless I absolutely have to. As far as I know, Recnet does a straight port of SD every week or so, so while it's not entirely free of flaws either (if I had a nickel for every time I've found a failed license still listed in Recnet as "referred to CRTC"...) it's pretty authoritative. The problem with Recnet is that it doesn't let you search by frequency, or at least I haven't figured out how to do it if it does. It was great while I was trying to check that the Canadian entries on all those frequency disambiguation pages were valid, but not so much now that I'm trying to find all the other Canadian stations that weren't listed. On the other hand, Spectrum Direct let me do a complete dump that I could sort by frequency and call sign, and then cross-check. Mlaffs (talk) 23:28, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
