- Hi! I'm doing this for a class project and just trying to get a draft to the mainspace, is that the same as publishing? Also the draft mechanic is so screwy I'm having a hard time understanding when something is published and when it's just for me. How can I get more clarity on this? none of the resources provided have been particularly hepful Mirrandaa (talk) 18:44, 5 April 2022 (UTC)
- Hi! You reviewed my article again and refused to provide any clarity in the questions I asked last time. Can you help me or direct me to someone who can? Otherwise I cannot contribute Mirrandaa (talk) 19:00, 5 April 2022 (UTC)
- Hi, if creating a new article or just changes this is referred to as publishing (as the button says... "Publish changes" when editing). You can work on non 'published' articles either as a sub page in your user space, such as your sandbox (i.e. User:Mirrandaa/sandbox), or in the draft area (i.e. Draft:BEquinox). As these are not in mainspace they are not generally searchable for readers, or for bots like google. As for the article, all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS), they also have to have all main claimed sourced see Help:Referencing for beginners. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 19:04, 5 April 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you! I will be more conscious of these differences and hopefully provide a better version of the article soon. Mirrandaa (talk) 19:31, 5 April 2022 (UTC)
