Hello, MintyQuinn, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Shalor and I work with the Wiki Education Foundation; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. Idolmaster sidem moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Idolmaster sidem, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can develope the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Thanks, --DannyS712 (talk) 10:15, 12 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Creating an article

[edit]

Hi! I wanted to give you some feedback since I saw that your article was moved to the draftspace. Offhand what you'll need to do is the following:

  • Make sure that the page is as complete as possible before moving it live. The page will need to cover the following:
  1. Any games released in this series.
  2. Any anime or manga adaptations. If there were any audio dramas, they should be mentioned as well.
You may want to look at a translated version of the Japanese article (unless you are fluent enough in Japanese to read it, of course) to see all of the content that was released in the franchise. (Google Translate is good for this.) Make sure that everything is sourced, however keep in mind that sourcing doesn't have to be in English.
  • Be careful of sources. While sourcing doesn't have to be in English, it does have to be in a place Wikipedia would see as reliable. For example, TV Tropes is not seen as a reliable source since anyone can add content to the site and as such, is very open to user interpretation and doesn't have a formal editorial and verification process that would be up to par with what Wikipedia expects of a reliable source. MyAnimeList is also not usable since anyone can add content to the site and it pulls its information from wikis or other places that accept user submitted content, so it suffers from the same issues. Manga Tokyo is a bit of a dubious source as well, to be honest. It's a bit frustrating, but there aren't a huge plethora of places that are considered to be reliable sources as far as Japanese anime, manga, and games go, as it's a niche area that doesn't get a lot of mainstream attention despite these their popularity. I think it's because they're often not taken very seriously. ANN and Crunchyroll are definitely reliable sources as far as this stuff goes, but be aware that they may be considered a primary source when they are reporting on things like the anime they host on their site. It's a bit of a grey area when it comes to things like stores based on anime they air, so just keep this in mind.
  • When you describe characters and content, make sure that you don't use an "in universe" style (ie, where you describe things as if they actually exist). You haven't done this, but it's something that is good to let you know about in general. Also, make sure that everything you add is explicitly stated in the source material.
  • The series and game titles should be italicized in the article.
  • This article needs to be set up in a certain way. Keep in mind that the game was first and that all of the related media would be an adaptation of this game. As such I'd style it like the articles on other games in the series that have received adaptations. The Idolmaster Dearly Stars is a perfect example of how this should be formatted.

Some of the easiest things to find would be things like reviews for the game and anime. This should be usable, as would any ANN reviews. If you're unsure about a source, definitely feel free to reach out to me. I'm a fan of anime and manga, so I'm generally knowledgeable about what would be seen as a reliable source on here. I don't really think that there will be a huge problem with finding sourcing and establishing notability (mostly just knowing where to look and how to search for the Japanese sources), so most of this will be making sure that the article is set up and formatted properly. As stated above, The Idolmaster Dearly Stars is a perfect example of how it should be set up. Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 20:37, 30 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
