CSD-tagging old drafts
Hi there, I see you're CSD tagging a lot of drafts, some several months old, as test pages. There's really no need to do this - when a draft has been untouched in draft space for 6 months, it will be deleted via WP:G13. -- asilvering (talk) 03:31, 29 September 2024 (UTC)
- I also don't see much point in tagging for speedy deletion userpages for users who created their userpage then never edited again. User:A certified hood classic - one edit more that a year ago; User:Barret Arrt - created their usepage in May 2023 and never edited again. Sure, some of them, like User:David Hustle Banks, look very WP:U5-able, but they've just created a userpage and then never edited again. Is there a particular reason you are tagging them? There may well be good reasons, but I can't see why. Pete AU aka --Shirt58 (talk) 🦘 10:55, 2 October 2024 (UTC)
- I do see where you're coming from but does it even matter if the user's only edit is to create their user page? A page can still be a U5 violation regardless of when it was created. Spam has been a problem within Wikimedia and small actions of deleting such pages plays a part in keeping spam within Wikimedia at a minimum. --Min☠︎rax«¦talk¦» 12:46, 2 October 2024 (UTC)
- They don't get indexed by search engines, so they just sit there doing nothing. It's not really important to go after them. Every time you make a CSD you're urgently calling an admin out to take some kind of action. Once we're already there, we might as well delete the thing, but that doesn't mean it wasn't a waste of everyone's time in the first place. -- asilvering (talk) 15:18, 2 October 2024 (UTC)
