don't seem to have been given barnstars for April blitz
[edit]Hi, I participated in the April copyedit blitz and don't seem to have been given my barnstars even though the notice says they have been distributed. Thanks in advance WikiMasterGhibif (talk) 15:33, 1 May 2017 (UTC)
- Jonesey95 should have told you that your copyedits were not up to our standards, especially for request articles. Please see Wikipedia:WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors/How to and WP:C/E, and you can learn the ropes with backlog articles. Cosmetic changes are not enough. All the best, Miniapolis 17:28, 1 May 2017 (UTC)
- Thank you, I can see that now. For some reason earlier I wasn't able to open my list of article. Thanks again WikiMasterGhibif (talk) 20:40, 1 May 2017 (UTC)
- WikiMasterGhibif, my apologies. I meant to leave you a note, but I must have gotten distracted while giving out the rest of the barnstars. Indeed, as Miniapolis said, your edits were too minimal to meet a basic copy-editing standard. If the article is tagged for copy-editing or requested on the GOCE's Requests page, it is expected that you copy-edit the entire article if you are going to take credit for it.
- Thank you, I can see that now. For some reason earlier I wasn't able to open my list of article. Thanks again WikiMasterGhibif (talk) 20:40, 1 May 2017 (UTC)
- If copy-editing entire long articles is not your cup of tea, I encourage you to work on shorter articles, or to find another way to contribute to Wikipedia that suits you better. Drop me a line if you need help figuring out a way to contribute. Thanks! – Jonesey95 (talk) 23:17, 1 May 2017 (UTC)

[edit]Good Morning Miniapolis,
I am pleased to wiki-meet you. I hope this message finds you well.
I am writing in regards to my article about "Nacarid Portal Arraez".
She is a young Venezuelan writer with three books out for sale, throughout Latin America and Europe.
I am trying as much to put the article the best possible way, but I can't seem to get it right, would you be o kind to help me?.
I would appreciate it very much,
I know it's something in regards to the references, but I can't find the correct way to put them together. I have all her articles, bios, etc etc.
Please, help!
Thank you so much,

- Wikipedia has strict sourcing guidelines for biographies of living people, which require at least one reliable source which supports at least one statement in the article; there were no secondary, independent sources in the article. There are also notability guidelines for authors, which the subject of your article does not seem to meet yet; merely publishing books is not enough. If you are working for (or otherwise connected with) the subject, you must declare your conflict of interest and be very careful to edit from a neutral point of view. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a directory or a source of publicity. I hope this helps. All the best, Miniapolis 17:38, 28 April 2017 (UTC)
Hello Miniapolis, thank you so much for the information provided.
I have no direct connection with the author. But as I am making a school essay on out favorite writer, I chose her. Who yes its kinda of new. And my teacher told me I had to get one with the same, reliable sources, and said I could find a way to create a wikipedia page. As you may understand, this is a passion assignment, and I would love to be able to do it about her, Is there any advise you can give me? I have press articles that I found, and other media. Please I need help :( — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pitu093 (talk • contribs) 18:23, 2 May 2017 (UTC)
- Please see Wikipedia:Your first article, and sign your talk-page posts with four tildes (~~~~). As I said above, sourcing is the most important thing (especially for a biography of a living person. Have fun and all the best, Miniapolis 19:15, 2 May 2017 (UTC)
For example, a friend of mine, Laura Chimaras, she is a living personality and her wikipedia page was created by her sister. The reference that appears n the page is a web article, how did that work?? Sorry im bugging you too much with so many questions, im just trying to have a deeper understanding hehe. Thank you for your patience and help. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pitu093 (talk • contribs) 19:18, 2 May 2017 (UTC)
- I removed your indenting so the post formatted correctly; it's a good idea to preview your edits before saving (and to sign them). I saw the Laura Chimaras article in the Spanish Wikipedia. Her sister had a conflict of interest in creating the article because of the family relationship, but Chimaras seems to meet the notability guideline for actors (which is different from the guideline for authors). Wikipedia:Articles for creation, Wikipedia:Contributing to Wikipedia or the Teahouse may be able to help. Miniapolis 19:49, 2 May 2017 (UTC)
