I originally asked User:Solarra to help me out, but it seems she's on a short wiki-break. I am trying to get this article to FA-status and one of the A-class reviewers suggested I ask someone from WP:GOCE to take a look at it. Would you have time and the inclination to give it a once-over? (or twice-over - couldn't hurt)--v/r - TP 19:29, 31 August 2014 (UTC)

Sure; I'm glad you caught me between engagements :-). All the best, Miniapolis 19:49, 31 August 2014 (UTC)
Thanks a ton!--v/r - TP 19:56, 31 August 2014 (UTC)
Glad to help. At my cruising speed of about 2,000 words a day, give me three days. All the best, Miniapolis 19:59, 31 August 2014 (UTC)
Thanks. Miniapolis 22:21, 1 September 2014 (UTC)
Sure—I'll look at it today. All the best, Miniapolis 13:08, 4 September 2014 (UTC)
... and  Done. Looks good. All the best, Miniapolis 16:14, 4 September 2014 (UTC)
Thanks again, I really appreciate it.--v/r - TP 17:10, 4 September 2014 (UTC)
Glad to help; it's a long slog to A-class and FA. Good luck and all the best, Miniapolis 17:30, 4 September 2014 (UTC)

Bloodlines

Hey Mini—not quite sure how to broach this, but I recently reviewed Bloodlines for GA (which you recently copyedited) and a few things jumped out at me. If you would be interested in some constructive feedback, perhaps you would be interested in my GAN comments? The biggest issue was the inappropriate hyphenation of a bunch of phrases. Anyway, just wanted to leave a note. Have a good one! czar  23:16, 6 September 2014 (UTC)

No problem, and I took a quick look at your comments. I gave it my best shot as someone unfamiliar with the material, who responded to a GOCE copyedit request. As for the hyphens, I follow MOS:HYPHEN. All the best, Miniapolis 23:26, 6 September 2014 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Göran Söllscher, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Alexander Gibson. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Falcon's Fury

Thanks for beginning to copyedit the article! It is greatly appreciated!--Dom497 (talk) 23:34, 14 September 2014 (UTC)

Glad to help; it's very good. I should be done tomorrow, and will leave a note on your talk page when I am. All the best, Miniapolis 01:37, 15 September 2014 (UTC)
Hey, I saw your note you left within the article. Which sentence are you talking about? If your talking about the first, I've re-worded it a bit. For your talking about the second, the ride uses a total of 3,600 square feet of space on the ground.--Dom497 (talk) 19:34, 15 September 2014 (UTC)
It was the first sentence; I (and perhaps other non-specialist readers) don't know what "Sky Jump model" means. Also, before submitting the article as an FAC you may want to trim the WP:REFBLOAT; three citations at a time is plenty. I think The Rambling Man mentioned this in his GA review, but that particular essay (like some others) has the weight of a guideline. All the best, Miniapolis 19:47, 15 September 2014 (UTC)
Sky Jump is the model of the attraction. The manufacture calls a ride what they want and then the park names it what they want. It's like saying GateKeeper is actually a Wing Coaster. Also, are you done the copy-edit?--Dom497 (talk) 19:51, 15 September 2014 (UTC)
Okay, but I don't understand the difference between a Sky Jump and a drop tower. If there is none (if they're identical ride types), the sentence is inaccurate; if a Sky Jump is a type of drop tower, that should be specified. I'll tag your talk page when I finish the copyedit (soon :-)). All the best, Miniapolis 20:00, 15 September 2014 (UTC)
OK. Regarding the model. Sky Jump is a type of drop tower. Drop tower is the general classification. See Intamin's website for all the types of drop tower's they have (Sky Jump isn't included there because the page isn't up to date).--Dom497 (talk) 20:03, 15 September 2014 (UTC)

(Outdent) Thanks for the clarification, and I've tweaked the sentence to reflect that. Miniapolis 20:47, 15 September 2014 (UTC)

Thank-you! Your help is greatly appreciated!--Dom497 (talk) 01:27, 16 September 2014 (UTC)
Glad to help (even though I wouldn't ride that thing for a million bucks :-)). All the best, Miniapolis 01:39, 16 September 2014 (UTC)
How about now? :D --Dom497 (talk) 01:48, 16 September 2014 (UTC)

Intelligence handling articles

You seem to be making good way in these. They certainly read better. More power to your elbow. GraemeLeggett (talk) 18:14, 18 September 2014 (UTC)

Thanks, but the one I'm working on is pretty dry and it's not easy to copyedit something you barely understand :-). This one was tagged {{copyedit}} for a while, but I'll leave any others to editors better versed in the field. All the best, Miniapolis 18:37, 18 September 2014 (UTC)
I think part of the problem is that the editor who put most of the text into the articles filled it with what they knew from the "textbooks" on the subject. Which is not the same as encyclopaedic writing. Hence a lot of it comes across like management speak or how-to. The key thing is you made at least one article better for the next reader. GraemeLeggett (talk) 19:51, 18 September 2014 (UTC)
You're right. I don't know about the editor(s) who wrote this article (looks like there were at least two), but I've seen a fair number whose sole contribs were to drop an article into WP and they never come back to improve it (which keeps the GOCE out of mischief :-)). UTRS

Please release ticket #11235, I have removed the (mistaken) account-creation-disabled from the rangeblock affecting the user and would like to reply to him to inform him. ☺ · Salvidrim! ·  16:45, 23 September 2014 (UTC)
