Bristol Improv Comment

You mentioned that I shouldn't use facebook/troupe website as sources as they are unreliable. The facebook link is their only current press release apart from on their website which also links back to them. The use of their website was also used in relation to their events, as that is the most up-to-date list of their events. Should I just not mention the sources, or change the entry in some way?

Thanks in advance! (And sorry if I posted incorrectly - I'm new to this)

Cheers for the response. I think I'll keep their site for the schedule as it's most reliable and only appears once, but will try and fine alternate references other than Facebook for the other links, and failing that will just remove it as a reference. You think that's the move I should take?

your comment on my draft

Thanks for taking the time to look at my project. Four of my references (2,3,5,6) are reliable and independent, no? Any tips you can give me on clearing this hurdle would be appreciated.

Articles For Creation - Local Splash

Hi Millermk90,

Thanks for taking the time to review my article. How many more links do you think I need to get this page active?

How is my page any different from:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OrangeSoda

Also, I don't understand how the current links don't fulfill these requirements:

"In order to be included in Wikipedia, the company must be: the subject of multiple non-trivial published works whose source is independent of the company itself, OR listed on ranking indices of important companies produced by well-known and independent publications,

Can you help me get this page live?

Best,

Jeff — Preceding unsigned comment added by JeffBordeaux (talkcontribs) 18:15, 27 May 2012 (UTC)

Thomas Gargrave (soldier) rejection

The article was rejected for a copyright violation. Can you elaborate? Fotoguzzi (talk) 19:00, 27 May 2012 (UTC)

It's an (almost) copy and paste form the book which was cited. Slight rewording doesn't make it a non-copyvio, as far as I know. I believe the text is on page 226. If not, try searching Thomas Gargrave in quotes on the page linked to in the source and you'll find it. Millermk90 (talk) 04:41, 28 May 2012 (UTC)
The book is from 1868. I was presuming it was out of copyright by now. Lifting bare biographical information in substantially the form it appears in a terse heraldry book seemed reasonable in this case. I know there is a tag for lifts from the 1911 Britannica; perhaps there is something similar for other works.
My intent was to make a stub page for a minor Shakespeare character as a wikipedia article pointed to the wrong Gargrave. Thank you very much. Fotoguzzi (talk) 20:27, 30 May 2012 (UTC)
Hello, thanks for the note. (Sorry, not sure how talkback works or I would perhaps make things easier for you.) I agree that the article is not very good as it stands, but I felt there needed to be something so that people knew that a Gargrave really did die about the same time as Salisbury.Fotoguzzi (talk) 21:06, 30 May 2012 (UTC)

Hi Millermk90, I thought might let you know that I've declined the Big League City submission - have a look at the AFC submission for my reasoning.Callanecc (talk) 12:28, 28 May 2012 (UTC)

Looks good to me, nice work! 252 left, we're going to make it! :) Millermk90 (talk) 18:31, 28 May 2012 (UTC)

Why was my submission declined??

First of all, why did you decline my submission of the article Flying Colors (software)?? The source that I have listed IS reliable!! It's directly from the product's own website!!! 99.7.54.74 (talk) 23:42, 28 May 2012 (UTC)

Second rejection of Article on Agharkar Research Institute.

Hi,

I have tried my best to describe the institute and give the authentic references like government sites, other research institutes etc. I just don't know what else you need. As a reference I used BORI ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BORI ) page but it is strange that BORI page exists and mine is declined twice. Very discouraging! Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sowani (talkcontribs) 04:00, 29 May 2012 (UTC)

Pearltrees Submission

Since you feel this reads like an advertisement, even though citations are from major/reputable sources, can you please provide some additional/more specific feedback for improvement? — Preceding unsigned comment added by OWStarr (talkcontribs) 08:23, 29 May 2012 (UTC)

Pearltrees Submission

I have looked over the notes on notability and given the definition here; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Notability_(organizations_and_companies) it would seem the company is notable (coverage by nearly every major tech blog, CNN, Forbes, etc), and has references to same.

I noted that in terms of citations using a reference to the company's own materials is generally frowned upon, however there are instances where the definition of a feature or function is only available from the company's own help pages/blog - is this still unacceptable? --OWStarr (talk) 08:42, 29 May 2012 (UTC)

Pearltrees Submission

Hi and thanks for your additional feedback. I was not aware that the prior entry was still visible as an article for submission. It should have been deleted. Can you please take a look at the currently submitted article and provide some feedback on that one?----OWStarr (talk) 09:00, 29 May 2012 (UTC)
