FYI

Hi. May you already had noticed, if not: at Commons are since around 2 months ca. 100.000 images from the "Bundesarchiv" of germany. A lot of the images showing sportpeoples and of them a lot Wintersportspeople. Mostly of course Germans and of them mostly East germans. Maybe you want to put some of them in you're articles. It's a really big gift, that we know can use such images. Marcus Cyron (talk) 01:59, 4 February 2009 (UTC)

Hi, next Problem. Hilde Auer dos'nt exist. This is a mistake somewere in the began in the Net and know it's here. This is Monika Auer. I actually have a copy of the original Results lying in Front of me, there's definitly written "AUER, Monika". So this should be corrected and the false article must be deleted or redirected. But here at en:Wp it's to complicated for me do do that and I would explain it also to you before deleting. Marcus Cyron (talk) 22:45, 4 February 2009 (UTC) PS: Karla Kienzel is also under a false Lemma (in the article is the correct spelling Karla Kienzl) Marcus Cyron (talk) 23:14, 4 February 2009 (UTC)

Hi. I undid several of your edits to Thomas Hall. First, I removed the disambiguation term from the sorting key, as they do not belong there. Secondly, I restored the "MedalCountry" template, as I am unsure as to why it was removed. Finally, the "references" section is only for material that is directly being used as a citation for information in the article. Links for general, related information or that do not cite specific facts belong in the "external links" section. Cheers, CP 00:42, 9 February 2009 (UTC)

Please, I recommend that you should change the name of the category Category:Shopping malls in Czech republic, maybe to Category:Shopping malls in Czech Republic, or Category:Shopping malls in the Czech Republic. --Voletyvole (talk) 18:43, 16 February 2009 (UTC)

FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2009 - images

Hi Chris. I've left a few requests at relevant pages of the Czech Wikipedia. I also see, that someone is already involved. Check this in the next days. I hope this helps. Regards, --Vejvančický (talk) 13:02, 17 February 2009 (UTC)

No problem. I have an account there, and I can help to manage that, I think. I'll check it too.--Vejvančický (talk) 20:02, 17 February 2009 (UTC)

2009 competition

Sorry, I was away from Liberec during these championships - I couldn't have snapped some pictures. I enjoyed a good holiday, however. --Voletyvole (talk) 21:12, 4 March 2009 (UTC)

LB 2009 section

There was something in this I didn't understand. "...a nation without success national favorites had organized..." --Voletyvole (talk) 21:37, 4 March 2009 (UTC)

FIS President Kasper expressed great satisfaction with the championships, stating that it
was the first time that a nation without success national favorites (The Czech won only one
medal, a silver by Bauer in the men's 15 km) had organized such a successful championships

Czech press

Hello. Regarding your question about the Czech press: How much shall I elaborate? There's a quite negative comment from The vice-chief of the Czech Ski Association:

To vůbec nepřipadá v úvahu. Všichni víme, co se dělo kolem ekonomiky. A všichni víme, že Vesec zmizí propadlišti. Zůstane tam jen jeden barák a dráha," shrnul svou vizi toho, jak skončí běžecký areál za půl miliardy korun.

, basically means "Everyone knows it was about the money...and that Vesec is going to pretty much be empty now". I'll look for some more sources about this competition being all about money - there are a lot in Czech, but maybe not so many in English. I will try to find some English-language sources which say this, but I am having trouble. I imagine we have here a bias for English sources, but how much do we allow foreign-language sources? --Voletyvole (talk) 21:59, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

Thank you very much for the medal and barnstar. They are most appreciated. Also, good work on the world championship article. I find it somewhat amusing that a Southerner is interested in skiing ;) Hope to find some more skiing-related articles at WP:GAN in the future. Arsenikk (talk) 17:29, 24 March 2009 (UTC)

FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2009 - images

Hi Chris, it's probably too late, but someone has sent me links with images from championship: [1], [2], [3], [4]. Is it useful? Btw, I admire your fantastic work on that, it's GA now! Congratulations. --Vejvančický (talk) 17:57, 29 March 2009 (UTC)

Looks good. FYI, we had some controversy around organization of the championship in the Czech Rep. The chief organizer Roman Kumpošt was replaced by Kateřina Neumannová (Czech national hero in that time), and whole his team resigned, it was presented as unfair in the Czech media. The public image of Neumannová was seriously damaged... However, it was rather a local matter. --Vejvančický (talk) 20:33, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
