re: recently delisted law enforcement article
[edit]Hi,
Well, there was a long discussion at WP:LE about what was and what was not part of the project's scope. I appreciate that the subject does have links with police forces, however in the scope discussion in the project pages it was decided that people for whom law enforcement was not the major source of notability should't be in the project. To be honest with you, it is open for discussion, I might open it up on the WP:LE main talk page. Reading the scope in black and white would leave this article outside of our project, but the scope is difficult to lay down and open to some interpretation. I ummmed and aaah'd about it for a while before I took our tag off, so lets open it to discussion and see what happens :)

re: Weapon Lists
[edit]Actually, I was referring to the fact that MEU(SOC) pistol was being miscategorized in a category that is a list of Marine Corps lists. — PyTom 23:28, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
Could you help me write this article?
[edit]Hello,
I was wondering if you would be willing to help me write either Seikichi_Iha or Shorin-ryu_Shido-kan. Tkjazzer 21:48, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
WP Christianity
[edit]Hi, I saw your name on the WikiProject Christianity Membership page.
I've made some changes to the WP Christianity main project page, added several sup-project pages, created a few task forces section, and proposed several more possible changes so that we can really start making some serious progress on the project. Please stop by and see my comments on the project talk page here and consider joining a task force or helping out with improving and contributing to our sub-projects. Thanks for your time! walther
[edit]You may want to have a look in on Talk:Walther P22 again. Griot has canvassed only those users who want to keep the VT mention in the article, so I am alerting those who were not yet contacted. There has been discussion on WP:ANI about the outcome of the previous polls. Your continued involvement in the discussion(s) would be welcomed. ··coelacan 22:27, 30 April 2007 (UTC)

Disambiguation link
[edit]Hey, no problem, just doing my job with Wikipedia:WikiProject Disambiguation. By the way, thanks for being a true Wikipedia; sometimes it feels like there's less and less WikiLove around here, but you reaffirmed my faith that Wikipedians are generally good people! Thanks a bunch for taking the time -YK Timestalk 00:03, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
Hello, Mike Searson. An automated process has found and removed an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, and thus is being used under fair use that was in your userspace. The image (Image:EKISark.jpg) was found at the following location: User talk:Mike Searson/archive. This image or media was attempted to be removed per criterion number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media was replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. Please find a free image or media to replace it with, and or remove the image from your userspace. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 01:56, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
Infobox Drive for the Firearms Wikiproject
[edit]Hello Mike Searson. The Firearms Wikiproject is having an infobox drive. The purpose of this is to ensure that most (if not all) of the articles within our scope have the relevant infoboxes. The start date will be May 28th. If you choose to participate, go to our project page and pick an article under the To-do list's Infobox section or look for firearm articles that need an infobox. Before you start editing an article, please cross it out on the list so that we don't have editor's work clashing. The drive will last for five days. If you are interested, please RSVP to LWF. Thank you, the Firearms Wikiproject. --Seed 2.0 09:21, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
Jeet Kune Do...
[edit]I noticed from the martial arts project that you listed Jeet Kune Do as one of your arts. Just out of curiosity, are you listing JKD as a style of martial arts that you know? It kills those of us who are purists when we see people who say they "know" JKD and they treat it as its own style - especially when Bruce himself says in the last line of his book, Tao of Jeet Kune Do, that it is not a style, but a philosophy. For a martial artist to adhere to and practice tenants of a philosophy is one thing, but to say they "know" it, "study" it or they being "taught" JKD as a separate and definitive style is a bastardization of both the philosophy itself and the man who created it. Unspecified source for Image:ColonelHackworth.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:ColonelHackworth.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 20:30, 25 June 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Videmus Omnia 20:30, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

This article is being tagged by the bot because Marcinko is found within Category:Auburn University alumni. Auburn University is a school located in Auburn, Alabama, and is included within the list categories the bot is running. - auburnpilot talk 16:19, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

WikiProject Business & Economics article on Andrew Saul
[edit]Just a heads up that Andrew Saul (ex-CEO of Cache and Brooks Bros.) has been nominated for featured article status here. Any input, comment and suggestions would be greatly appreciated, there is not that much info on him as it relates to his business career, and being an !expert, I'm not quite sure how well I can flesh it out. Please feel free to comment and/or improve the article. Thanks! Mrprada911 21:18, 25 August 2007 (UTC)

AIV reports
[edit]Hey Mike, I just wanted to drop you a quick line about your vandalism reports. Let me begin by saying thank you for making them. We can't block the vandals without diligent people like you reporting them. However, we usually don't block them unless there's vandalism in progress, there's a static IP address involved, or it's a school with a history of vandalism (and I have yet to see a school without such a history). Anyway, my point is just that IPs that haven't vandalized for a few days or hours are unlikely to be blocked. There's also a template, {{uw-aiv}}, that explains this in boilerplate fashion. Thanks again.--Chaser - T 04:49, 14 September 2007 (UTC)

Fair use disputed for Image:Meusoc86.gif
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Meusoc86.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:44, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
disamb of links
[edit]Mike - Sometimes the words that seem obvious and the ones that are overlooked. I am working on a tidy-up project Wikipedia:Disambiguation pages with links/2007-08-02 dump fixing up the links into space. I start but then get distracted by reading the pages. It is an interesting page you are working on. Stellar 06:11, 22 September 2007 (UTC)
Blue iguana
[edit]I copyedited it. Tell you what, the "Recovery" section was brutal. I left a couple of comments on its talk page I'd like you to take a look at. The thing is still a little creaky, I think, style-wise. Parts of it sounded like they were written by a 15-year-old girl tree-hugger who'd never read anything but Bambi in her life, and other parts sounded like Dr. Snooty von Snootysnoot. I'll look at it again later on after I've forgotten it some. Long live the blue iguana! --Milkbreath 14:01, 25 September 2007 (UTC)
