License tagging for Image:Lossantos.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Lossantos.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 12:07, 6 February 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned fair use image (Image:San Fierro.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:San Fierro.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. [edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Reddick.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

RFC discussion of your username (Mike J FOX)

[edit]

Hello, Mike J FOX, and thank you for contributing to Wikipedia! Wikipedia has a policy on what usernames editors can use. Unfortunately, concerns have been raised that your username may be incompatible with that policy. You can contribute to the discussion about it here. Alternatively, if you agree that your username may be problematic and are willing to change it, it is possible for you to keep your present contributions history under a new name. Simply request a new name here following the guidelines on that page, rather than creating a whole new account. Thank you. -- 142.20.217.152 16:28, 2 April 2007 (UTC) 142.20.217.152 16:28, 2 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your username has been blocked indefinitely because it may be rude or inflammatory, unnecessarily long/confusing, too similar to an existing user, contains the name of an organization or website, contains the word Wikipedia or the name of any other Wikimedia Foundation project, or is otherwise inappropriate (see our blocking and username policies for more information).

You are encouraged to create a new account and contribute to Wikipedia under a more appropriate username. Wikipedia:Username policy provides guidance on selecting an appropriate username. You may also edit Wikipedia without creating an account.

You are not allowed to edit Wikipedia under an inappropriate username. If you would like to discuss the block, you may appeal on your talk page or email the administrator who blocked you. Due to Wikipedia's mechanism for enforcing name changes, your IP address may be temporarily blocked. Unless you have also been engaging in vandalism or impersonation of another user, we will remove that block as soon as possible.

If you want to keep the contributions from your old account for your new username, please follow these directions:

  1. Add {{unblock-un|your new username here}} to your user talk page. This is possible because even when you are blocked, you can still edit your own talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked.
  3. You will have 24 hours after the unblock to file a request on Wikipedia:Changing username before you may be re-blocked. Note that this can only be done before you create the new one. For more information, please visit Wikipedia:Changing username. In many cases (especially if your account has few or no edits), it is a lot easier to create a new account.

Your username is the same as that of a famous living person. If this is your real name, apologies; email me and confirm your identity in some checkable way, and I will unblock. If you are unable to do that or don't want to, may I suggest changing your username in such a way that it makes it clear you are not Michael J. Fox, for instance, giving your full middle name or omitting the initial. Mangojuicetalk 17:22, 2 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Changing your username?

[edit]

Would you be adverse to changing your username to Mike fox, or something of the sorts? The community consensus currently at WP:RFCN is strong leaning towards disallowing your username in its current state. IF you would like help chaning your username, please let me know on my user talk page. -- Chrislk02 (Chris Kreider) 17:24, 2 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Along with your unnecessary page move of Tommy Vercetti and your message, that I deliberately asked you to stop doing, has prompted me to tell you to please stop now. All of this is blatantly inflammatory and can be considered vandalism. ♣ Klptyzm Chat wit' me § Contributions00:31, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked

[edit]

You have been blocked indefinitely for your disruption to Wikipedia through page move vandalism. WjBscribe 00:53, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

    • If you want to request an uninvolved admin to review the situation, you should put {{unblock|your reason here}} on this page. But you should probably explain the page move spree or it'll just be denied. Mangojuicetalk 12:46, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

The page moving was only a joke, sorry if i mislead you all

Decline reason:

It was a very disruptive joke. What productive edits do you plan on making if we do decide to unblock you? — 210physicq (c) 22:13, 14 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Improving articles insted of vandalisin' articles if you unblock me. Thats what i'll do. Mike Foker 22:15, 14 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use disputed for Image:Venturas.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Venturas.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:58, 16 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
