Is there a way to centralize data to be used across multiple pages? like population information
- I'm not sure exactly what you mean. You could create a template, which can be included on multiple pages. If that's not what you're looking for, give me more detail, and I'll try to help. —PurpleRAIN 15:46, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, I don't think there's any easy way to have a number update on several pages simultaneously. In this situation, I would suggest the following:
- The population figures on both pages should always have a date associated with them, so readers know how current the data is.
- Perhaps populations shouldn't be listed on List of cities in China. There are links to the cities there; readers could just click through to the appropriate city's page to find the population
- Don't worry about it too much. Population statistics are usually only updated every few years, so the data should be fairly current, and if the first point above is followed, readers will know exactly how current it is.
- These are all suggestions, and don't need to be followed; I'm just offering an opinion. —PurpleRAIN 16:36, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

Categories and templates
[edit]I want to make a category and template for DDR Players. I made a category with a simple user like box, but i don't think i have a template or user box made. I'm not sure how to do that. I would like to have the template add you to the category and look nice.
- Note that user categories are normally deleted unless they contain information that might be relevant for working on the encyclopedia (I'm not sure whether this counts or not). You can certainly have a userbox in your userspace: I'll make one at User:Mike2525/User DDR for you after I've posted this reply, and you can then edit it to how you want. --ais523 18:13, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
IP
[edit]my ip changes alot with my current internet service. When i was not logged in, i found that the IP i was currently assigned to was banned from editing pages. Will this have any effect on my ability to make changes when I am loggen in?
- Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Log in and you'll see what you'd need to do, if any. Xiner (talk, email) 03:59, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
