Михал Орела
[edit]MihalOrel (in reality Mihal Orela) is a pseudonym for the author of the blog of a "certain visual style" accessible at http://web.mac.com/micheal1/iWeb/Site/Blog/Blog.html. Mihal Orela is roman script for the corresponding Bulgarian Михал Орела. The email address gradinata@mac.com may be used to contact him.
The Name
[edit]The name is constructed to bring to mind two things. The word Mihal corresponds to the MiKaEl challenge: "Who is like to God?" In the Judaic-Christian-Islamic tradition Mihal is the name of the Greatest Archangel "Michael", the one who defeated the other Great Archangel Lucifer (Light Bearer) who is alleged to have challenged God. Traditionally, (Arch)angels have wings. The second part of the name "Orel" means Eagle (in Bulgarian) and doubtless the same in other Slavic languages? I believe there is an intimate connection bewtween the Eagle and "God". See Giambattisto Vico's New Science for details.
Current Activity
[edit]adding an Index to the Gutenberg Galaxy page
SoR 10:09, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
to justify the creation of the Gutenberg Galaxy Index I have introduced the concept of Book Breakout;
by this I mean a device or technique by which one might break out of a printed book into the wider Internet;
this breaking out is in some sense an enriching of the original book;
by constructing the index out of the 261 Chapter glosses given by McLuhan it is expected that readers
of Wikipedia will be surprised by the richness of McLuhan's language and be tempted to read the original book.

TOC Problem
[edit]Now that I have constructed a large number of glosses I need to think about re-organization such that the automatically generated TOC does not become a problem (which it is now).
I have just acquired, today, Wikipedia—the missing manual
and already have some ideas about how to proceed.
Thanks to any editors who have been watching and who have given me time
to re-organize...

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
