New page reviewer granted

Hi Layah50. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers" user group. Please check back at the permissions page in case your user right is time-limited or probationary. This user group allows you to review new pages through the Curation system and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or nominate them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is vital to maintaining the integrity of the encyclopedia. If you have not already done so, you must read the tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the deletion policy. If you need any help or want to discuss the process, you are welcome to use the new page reviewer talk page or ask via the NPP Discord. In addition, please remember:

  • Be nice to new editors. They are usually not aware that they are doing anything wrong. Do make use of the message feature when tagging pages for maintenance so that they are aware.
  • You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted. Please be formal and polite in your approach to them – even if they are not.
  • If you are not sure what to do with a page, don't review it – just leave it for another reviewer.
  • Accuracy is more important than speed. Take your time to patrol each page. Steps such as checking for copyright violations using Earwig's copyright violation detector, checking for duplicate articles, and evaluating sources (both in the article, and if needed, via a Google search) for compliance with the general notability guideline are mandatory and will take a few minutes per article.
  • Please review some of our flowcharts (1, 2) to help ensure you don't forget any required steps.
  • Use the message feature to communicate with article creators and offer advice as much as possible.

The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you also may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In cases of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, or long-term inactivity, the right may be withdrawn at administrator discretion. If you can read any languages other than English, please add yourself to the list of new page reviewers with language proficiencies. — Ingenuity (talk • contribs) 20:26, 3 August 2023 (UTC)

(talk page stalker)@Layah50 Congratulations on the User Right this makes making the drafts we are working together on alot easier as when it is ready for mainspace you will be there and we won't have to wait. Again congratulations you deserve it. Shadow345110 (talk) 20:42, 3 August 2023 (UTC)
Thanks! I've only got it for a one-month trial though. 🛧Layah50♪🛪 ( 話す? 一緒に飛ぼう!) 00:34, 4 August 2023 (UTC)
Oh well, you can still get the many articles for review down that is one of the reasons I want to get in the NPP School. There is so much drafts for review people are waiting long because New Page Patrol are so busy. Shadow345110 (talk) 00:38, 4 August 2023 (UTC)
Yeah, the backlog over there just keeps piling up every day and NPP users are inviting other users to join. That's one of the reasons why I applied.
I know some drafts out there waiting for review are good, however not many users have much time to review them. Likely, the articles without any sources or non-constructive articles (E.g. attack pages) will always be the first one to be declined or deleted as its the easiest to review. 🛧Layah50♪🛪 ( 話す? 一緒に飛ぼう!) 00:47, 4 August 2023 (UTC)
yep. Shadow345110 (talk) 00:58, 4 August 2023 (UTC)

Hi

hi Layah-Chan Abo Yemen 18:36, 5 August 2023 (UTC)

Hello! 🛧Layah50♪🛪 ( 話す? 一緒に飛ぼう!) 04:02, 7 August 2023 (UTC)

The August 2023 Good Article Nominations Backlog Drive is at the halfway mark, and has seen incredible progress, dropping the backlog from 638 to 359 unreviewed articles -- a 43.7% reduction in only fifteen days! But we still have over two weeks to go, and there are plenty of articles left to review:

  • We've gone from 14 nominations 270+ days old and 65 nominations 180+ days old to 2 and 0 respectively. No more articles will reach 270+ status during the drive, and only three more will reach 180+ if unreviewed, so this is your last chance to get the higher age bonuses!
  • We still have plenty of articles in the 90+ range, but the list is shrinking fast.
  • Some articles need new reviewers, either because they're officially on second opinion or because the original reviews were deleted or invalidated. You can help prevent these articles from waiting longer!
  • While there are starting to be clear favourites for the Content Review Medal of Merit, the field is still very open. A late entrant can still pull an upset to get the most reviews in the drive!

And remember: if you've done reviews, you should log them at the backlog drive page for points, so they can be tracked towards your awards at the end.

Thanks for signing up for the drive, and I hope to see you reviewing! Vaticidalprophet 02:01, 15 August 2023 (UTC)
