Fireboat Phoenix
[edit]I think your new article could be expanded a bit more, enough to qualify it for a quick little hook on the the WP:Main page in the "Did you know" section. The text part of the article, the readable prose, would have to double. I think this is not just possible, but fairly easy.
- http://www.fireboat.org/FEMAfireboatsthennowMay2003.pdf There's a case study about the Phoenix on page 21.
- Details of the Phoenix at celebrations, Fleet Week, parades, greeting tall ships (July 2005 and 2008), etc.
- More personal stories such as the 1989 pilot Arvid Havneras.
- Other fires in 1955, 1980, 1984.
These bits, along with crew and mechanical details, a quote from mayor Feinstein, could help the article make the "Did you know" section. Binksternet (talk) 14:27, 30 March 2011 (UTC)
- Some more notes at Talk:Phoenix_(fireboat)#To-do_list. See you there! Binksternet (talk) 04:54, 1 April 2011 (UTC)
DYK for Phoenix (fireboat)
[edit]On 13 April 2011, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Phoenix (fireboat), which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that San Francisco fireboat Phoenix (pictured) pumped some 5.5 million gallons (20.8 ML) of seawater to help fight fires after the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake? You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |
