A tag has been placed on File:Tjfnewpic.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image with an unknown source or an unknown copyright status which has been tagged as such for more than 7 days, and it still lacks the necessary information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Possibly unfree File:Tjfnewpic.jpg

[edit]

A file that you uploaded or altered, File:Tjfnewpic.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree files because its copyright status is unclear or disputed. If the file's copyright status cannot be verified, it may be deleted. You may find more information on the file description page. You are welcome to add comments to its entry at the discussion if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. --J Milburn (talk) 22:08, 16 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Tjfpic.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

The Joy Formidable

[edit]

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia! Correct me if I'm wrong, but are you the person who was recruited by TJF to look after their forum and manage information displayed on other sites as well (I base this assumption on the specific topic that was once posted in TJF forums). Then it comes as no surprise, that you want their article to be expanded and up to date. However, you should still keep in mind that this is an encyclopedia and has higher standards, compared to social networking sites, regarding the information displayed and respecting copyright. That said, I understand that you are relatively new to editing on Wikipedia, so I would like to offer any help needed with editing the article and uploading appropriate images. Some notes on your contributions so far:

About the biography added. I agree that the article needs a biography, but the one that you added (and is displayed on other social networking sites) won't be suitable without heavy editing. The section contains a large amount of opinions, that are more likely to personal than general views and thus should be removed altogether or attributed to someone in particular. The information should rather be presented in a factual manner. The section lacks any reference to sources used as well. Also, primary sources, such as the one used here that is published by the band, should be avoided and secondary sources preferred. I suggest also looking into WP:BIO guideline.

About the image you uploaded. If the band is willing to release the image into public domain, then that should be confirmed by the copyright holder (the band or the photographer, can't say which, since I lack in depth knowledge of the topic) via the OTRS system. WP:PERMISSION#For images should also be helpful. If permission is confirmed, then I recommend uploading the image and possibly others to Wikimedia commons (commons.wikimedia.org) rather than to Wikipedia, so they are accessible to all Wikimedia projects (wikis in other languages).

Anyway, I hope to see the TJF article promoted to the Good article status someday. So, don't hesitate to ask me on on my talk page if you have any questions. I also recommend looking into Wikipedia guidelines, if you intend to stay around here any longer. It will make your life, as well as others', a lot easier. Happy editing! —Quibik (talk) 11:44, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Science Fiction Theatre Records requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you.   ArcAngel   (talk) ) 03:01, 16 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Michaeldcoates. If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Science Fiction Theatre Records, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about following the reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  1. Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  2. Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
  3. Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  4. Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. Gurt Posh (talk) 12:02, 16 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
