Orphaned non-free media (File:SMTown Live World Tour III in Los Angeles-poster.png)

Thanks for uploading File:SMTown Live World Tour III in Los Angeles-poster.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:23, 9 September 2012 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Super Junior-M-Super GirlB.jpg

Thank you for uploading File:Super Junior-M-Super GirlB.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Morning Sunshine (talk) 04:33, 29 September 2012 (UTC)

Hello, how are you?^^ I have a question about recent edits that you've made on Teen Top and 100% (band): why do you delete links to music videos on youtube? they're the official youtube channels, so there's no copyrights violation. Also, please explain, why you deleted external links to official twitter, me2day and daum fancafe on 100% (band). Thanks, Pancakeysshi (talk) 18:03, 3 October 2012 (UTC)

Thankx for asking. Per edit summary they were deleted per WP:EL content guideline on external links. First the links to MV were in the body/text of the article which is not the convention. As for the other official links, the section of the same guideline on official links WP:ELOFFICIAL explains this, and that Wiki is not "collections of external links" per WP:NOTREPOSITORY. Even if they are offical links it is not necessary to "provide links to every part of the subject's web presence or provide readers with a handy list of all social networking sites". Hence external links, even if they are official, should be kept at a minimun and only if deem necessary.
If you would like to include links to official MV's then I think including one link to their official YouTube channel in the "External Links" section is OK. As this will provide access to all of them rather than listing each one in the text. That's why I didn't delete the one from 100% and meant to add it the Teen Top but forgot and was busy with something else. Which I will do right now. Hope this is helpful and feel free to ask if you have any questions. Happy editing.--Michaela den (talk) 11:11, 4 October 2012 (UTC)

Infobox Korean File

Hello Michaela den, as you have done a lot of edits on Korea I thought you might be interested in a debate at Template Talk on the topic of merging Infobox Korean Film into the generic Infobox Film category, deleting the Hangul/hanja/RR/MR information, or keeping it separate (as it currently is). I would appreciate it if you to contribute your thoughts or at least glance over it. The more people looking/thinking about it will give us better ideas as to what should be decided. Thank you. ₪RicknAsia₪ 09:29, 12 October 2012 (UTC)

There is currently a vote on that page as well as another reply that appeared after your posting. I would appreciate it if you could revisit the page, look at the options, and vote. Thanks ₪RicknAsia₪ 01:38, 17 October 2012 (UTC)

Hello Michaela,

I received your message and have to say that I think differently. My goal as a heavy user of korean content is to provide users an opportunity to find the safest resources possible for watching these dramas online. There are many illegal sources and the legal content providers like viki, dramafever, crunchyroll that provide a safe environment; away from viruses and spam filled websites. One of your comments was that links were not relevant, unique and inaccessible to a number of users. You have to realize that over 60% of wikipedia traffic is coming from north america, where these businesses are based, which makes the links highly relevant. I further state where the websites are available so that users not in the geographic area refrain from clicking on them. The goal of wikipedia is to provide users with unbiased information and to help them easily find more about that topic. Linking to these websites successfully does that. My original intentions were to mention these resources in the articles themselves, but I was afraid something like this might happen, so I put them in external links, where they belong. Its unfortunate that you removed most of my hard work, disabling me from moving forward. I would like you to reconsider and hopefully revise and let me continue providing my services. Please do get back to me. Thank You. -Jlywang

jlywang (talk) 12:12 , 19 October 2012 (UTC)

Thankxs for your question jlywang. I'm glad you asked, as I'm also a heavy Korean content user and like you am a fan of Korean dramas. I understand where you are coming from and mean well because it's frustrating that I am unable to enjoy them legally. I am sure there are many people out there who would want to support the creative process by not going to illegal sites. However Wiki is not the place to promote such services. I am not sure if the goal of Wiki is what you said it is but it does that in practise as an encyclopedia. There are also many things that Wiki is not per Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not policy, as "information cannot be included solely for being true or useful", as content must be attributed by third party reliable sources per Wikipedia:Verifiability.
As for the link in question. 'Drama Fever' is not exactly diffcult to find. I came across it a few years back, as most of the time, when one searches by a drama name, it appears on the first page of a google search. Therefore not some legitimate service being buried among illegal websites, needing help/promotion for its voice to be heard. In the context of Wiki, there are a number of points in contravene to WP:LINKSTOAVOID content guidline; eg it is restricted to North Americans, so still a site "inaccessible to a substantial number of users", being the remainder of the world who are all users. Also it is essentially a site that "primarily exist to sell products or services". Therefore cannot nor appropriate to include as an external link.
Hope this is helpful and sorry if you have taken offense to my undo-ing the addition of such links. Please free feel to ask if you have any other questions. I hope you'll stick around and give a helping hand in improving Korean content on Wiki. It can seem daunting at first with numerous guidlines etc but the Wikipedia:Five pillars can help in understanding how the principles and spirit of the rules work in practise. Cheers --Michaela den (talk) 12:07, 22 October 2012 (UTC)
Hello Michaela,
Thanks for the reply. I have read your responses, but still feel strongly about what I am posting. Under what circumstances could I post links to websites such as DramaFever? and others I mentioned in in my last post. In your post you assume that the websites "primarily exist to sell products or services" but that is for from. Lets take DramaFever for an example, their websites states that they try to provide "a better way to find and watch the best TV and movies from around the world, and create a community you can enjoy being a part of". Furthermore, they are a free service. It has also come to my attention that I was mistaken and was posting incorrect links. DramaFever IS an international company and are active in other regions around the world. Let me know if you can assist. Thank you! jlywang (talk) 4:04 , 23 October 2012 (UTC)

I know it is frustrusting and it has been going on since April 2012. I'll also help to keep a eye on it and if the problem presists than a request to protect it per Wikipedia:Protection policy can help. cheers--Michaela den (talk) 11:57, 28 October 2012 (UTC)

Please be careful with titles

When adding a "Korean" title to an article, please make sure that the title really is in Korean. For example, here you added a Chinese title, claiming that it is Korean! You can't just copy a Chinese title from Chinese Wikipedia, claiming that it is Korean. Same problem here: it's "90日, 사랑할 時間" (McCune-Reischauer: 90il, saranghal sigan), not "90天,相愛的時間" (McCune-Reischauer: 90ch'ŏn, sangaejŏk sigan). --Stefan2 (talk) 14:33, 28 January 2013 (UTC)

C-JeS

Hi! Why did you remove the source from the infobox? Numbers like revenue and employees also need to have a source! Now it looks as if they are unsrouced, unverified. Please don't remove sources! Teemeah 편지 (letter) 23:18, 10 March 2013 (UTC)

I see that you are also removing whole sections from other articles. Unsourced content should only be removed from biographical articles of living people. In other articles they should be tagged with {{citation needed}}. Please don't remove encyclopedic content. Only remove content that makes no sense or is obvious vandalism. Thanks. Teemeah 편지 (letter) 08:15, 11 March 2013 (UTC)

I did not remove sources. The one reference in question on article C-JeS Entertainment was not deleted. The multiple use of that one ref were only moved from the infobox per MOS:INFOBOX and Help:Infobox, that states it should contain data that is "Already cited elsewhere in the article" and that "References are not needed in infoboxes if the content is repeated (and cited) elsewhere". Granted, I was going to then incorpoate those few facts into the text but got distracted whilst editing the rest of the article and forgot about them. Hence a reminder would have suffice and there is no need not to assume good faith.
As for the removal of unsourced content, per WP:VERIFY, which states that "Any material lacking a reliable source directly supporting it may be removed" and that tagging is an option not a should. However not knowing what edits you are referring to it is difficult to try to explain to you why sections were deleted because it would have depended on the article and the edits.--Michaela den (talk) 17:28, 11 March 2013 (UTC)

Rain Covers

Hi Michaela

I went back to each image and fixed the descriptions as well as the source for each image. Let me know if I did it right or still need to fix anything.— Preceding unsigned comment added by User:Big Dre (talkcontribs) 15:16, 25 July 2013‎ (UTC)

Thankx for asking. I know the 'non-free use rationale dispute tag' states to correct concern in the rationale but it is more than that. My reasons, as stated on the dispute tag, are that the images of the alternative covers for the Rain albums, are not discussed within the text nor sourced by third party references/secondary reliable sources, hence not subject to critical commentary per WP:NFCI and fails WP:NFCCP#8. For example, the alternate cover of Lady Gaga's The Fame Monster is one such case. For further details see the deletion discussion Wikipedia:Files for deletion/2012 September 25#File:BornToDieParadise.png regarding the alternate cover of Lana Del Rey's Born to Die, where the deletion was also upheld at Wikipedia:Deletion review/Log/2012 October 12. Secret Garden, Korean drama, and verifiability

I've been posting to the reliable sources noticeboard partly about your removal of the "Controversy" section I put into Secret Garden (TV series), more about the implications of verifiability policy for the "History" section I put into Korean drama, and also about how promptly the former went away and how untouched the latter remains.

I've now coincidentally found an article you've edited (Gourmet (TV series)) plagiarising Dramabeans, the site you dismissed as unreliable. So it's getting close enough to personal that I thought I should explicitly let you know about this discussion. Don't worry; so far nobody's actually taking my side.

List of highest-grossing films in South Korea - editing

Hi! I wonder if you are the first person who made the page List of highest-grossing films in South Korea or made the section of Domestic films by gross (domestic films & in South Korean Won). I originally wanted to edit it only to include all of the films, but I couldn't find the exact sources for domestic films gross in South Korean Won. Instead of that, I found a source for domestic films gross in South Korea, but in US$, and for all films released 2007 after. So I decided to make another section accordingly to what I found. I knew how suck it is when we work on something so much but then someone later just erased everything to make edit as they pleased, so I leave the previous section alone and just adding my new section by giving different title Domestic films by gross (2007-2014) and adjusting the style of writing as the other sections. So I hope you don't mind with my editing. Cheers!Dearsunggyu (talk) 07:37, 3 January 2015 (UTC)
