Jamie Bryson

[edit]

Michael, please do not remove sourced content from articles as you did on the Jamie Bryson page. That could be construed as vandalism. Bryson is a notable figure in Northern Ireland and the text you arbitrarily removed was indeed "noteworthy".--Jeanne Boleyn (talk) 07:44, 29 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Jeanne, my intention was not to vandalise the page and I don't believe I did. The page on Bryson isn't particlarly well written from a grammatical perspective and contains a lot of excess, needless information given his stature. It appears to have been written by people who either seek to promote or embarrass him. A lot of the conflict over the removal of flags in Belfast is being played out online and I think it's important that Bryson, as one of the leading figures, doesn't have an article which gives him undue credibility, and at the same time doesn't try to paint him in a negative light. Do we really need to know what the other prisoners had nicknamed him? Michael Heseltin (talk) 18:35, 29 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Jamie Bryson has emerged as the leader of the protests so I don't think the article is giving him undue credibility. He is extremely newsworthy. As far as his prison nickname bring it up on the article's talk page and see if there is consensus to remove it. That is the place to discuss proposed changes to the Bryson article not our respective talk pages. Thank you for contacting me, Michael.--Jeanne Boleyn (talk) 06:47, 2 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
