Hi. Thanks for adding your information to Talk:Fort Slocum (New York) and Talk:David Island (New York). It sounds like you are very knowledgeable about the topic and your additions will be valuable in helping to clean up those too articles. You could edit the articles yourself, or if you prefer, I'll be happy to transfer stuff you left on the talk pages into the main articles. -- RoySmith (talk) 18:52, 16 May 2006 (UTC)
Your comments about Fort Slocum
[edit]Hi. Don't worry about being a newbie; we all were at one point. You did indeed reply in the right place (my talk page). Wikipedia is indeed a bit different from the conventional world of publishing, but I'm sure you'll do fine. One of the rules is to Be Bold.
I should point out one technical point. I notice you start your paragraphs by indenting the first line. That doesn't work in Wikipedia (well, it does, but it does something completely different from what you expect). Wikipedia uses an interesting set of markup to indicate things like italics, bold, and
- numbered
- lists
- of things
You can learn more about Wikipedia markup by reading Help:Editing.
