Jenelle Name "while she did not use the name "Joséphine" before meeting Napoleon, who was the first to begin calling her such, perhaps from a middle name of "Josephe". In her life before Napoleon, the woman now known as Joséphine went by the name of Rose, or Marie-Rose, Tascher de la Pagerie, later de Beauharnais, and she sometimes reverted to using her maiden-name of Tascher de la Pagerie in later life. After her marriage to the then General Bonaparte, she adopted the name Joséphine Bonaparte and the name of "Rose" faded into her past. The misnomer "Joséphine de Beauharnais" first emerged during the restoration of the Bourbons, who were hesitant to refer to her by either
Nature and Appearance Joséphine was described as being of average height, svelte, shapely, with silky, long, chestnut-brown hair, hazel eyes, and a rather sallow complexion. Her nose was small and straight, and her mouth was well-formed; however she kept it closed most of the time so as not to reveal her bad teeth.[31] She was praised for her elegance, style, and low, "silvery", beautifully modulated voice."[32] : Was she well known for her beauty? I do not completely understand the importance of this. Overall well informed and good. [[[User:Xjenxranx|Xjenxranx]] (talk) 17:36, 6 March 2020 (UTC)Xjenxranx]
Jelaine Art Patronage - She visited the Salon to build relationships with contemporary artists. Josephine became patron to many of the artists helping build their careers through their connections to her. After buying Malmaison Josephine created salons, gallery's, a theater and a garden. The Malmaison and the Tuileries Palace not only became the centers for Napoleon's government but also place for the arts. Josephine's court became became the leading court in Europe for the patronage of the arts. Josephine became the first French female royal collectors of this scale. Leading in the Consular and Empire style.: I really like this section because it shows that there is more to Josephine than love. Maybe you can expand on some of these important ideas for this section to show how she evolved over time between her marriages.
