Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Peoples National Bank robbery, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Army Reserve (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Thank you for your article on the Japan Airlines food poisoning incident

[edit]

Dear Michael-stanton, over a decade and a half ago I first heard about the food poisoning incident in a Japanese airline flight. That story caught my attention and every once in a while I did a cursory Google search to see what more could I find out about it, without much success. Then, in 2019 you wrote the Wikipedia article about it! Thank you very much for creating Japan Airlines food poisoning incident. I very much appreciate this contribution of yours. My sense is that many Wikipedians put lots of energy into creating articles that cover new developments, and that some older events may go unnoticed and accidentally ignored in Wikipedia. But thanks to contributions like yours, Wikipedia continues to improve its coverage not just of the present, but also of the past. Thank you! Al83tito (talk) 16:00, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Oh! And I almost forgot, please accept this Barnstar as a token of appreciation:

The Aviation Barnstar
This Aviation Barnstar is awarded by Al83tito to Michael-stanton, for his creation in 2019 of the Wikipedia article Japan Airlines food poisoning incident, a 1975 incident that is now no longer forgotten history.

More details for Japan Air Lines food poisoning incident

[edit]

Dear Michael, first, thank you very much for creating the article Japan Air Lines food poisoning incident. I had learned of this event in a history and culture course in university, and it was very interesting that you captured and brought to wikipedia this piece of history.

The professor of that class explained that a Japanese diplomat who reacted to the food poisoning by going to meet the victims in person (but who did not have direct responsibility in causing the poisoning), also committed suicide, presumably for Japan having lost face in the incident. This would be a different death from the manager of the catering company.

I wonder if you know anything about it (the bit of research I did recently did not yield additional information), and if nothing else I would like to bring this to your attention in case you get to do more research on this event. Thank you very much. Al83tito (talk) 19:18, 27 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, unfortunately I have no sources on this. Most of the article was translated from the German-language Wikipedia, where this article appeared first. I had a look at the sources, but they mention only the manager. --Michael-stanton (talk) 20:04, 27 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, thank you for your prompt response. I may leave a similar note in the talk page of the article as to flag this potential extra bit of information, in case other editors could find it. Thanks again. Al83tito (talk) 17:50, 28 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
