Ellison's Peer Review

[edit]

Upon first opening Micah’s sandbox, I immediately noted how well organized and correctly formatted the material was. I thought that the sandbox could be a finished Wikipedia article if the citations were correct and the “Specific Slave Codes” entry was filled. As someone who is still working on the formatting for my own article it is helpful to see a classmate with the “Content” key filled, headings for each break in content, and a well thought out introductory paragraph. I briefly checked the official “Slave Codes” Wikipedia article to compare and contrast with Micah’s article, and the official entry looks barren in contrast. I believe Micah will be adding a substantial amount of information to the topic, particularly through the differentiation of English, French, Spanish and American slave codes; however, I’m curious if Micah will preface the “American” section with the information in his entry, due to how state specific that section is. I am also curious if Micah has more to add on the American section of “Slave Codes”, as it had the least amount of information in comparison to the other entries; however, I do realize this might be due to the large amount of information already available on the official entry. - Ellison Thompson, 11/20/2018
