Your submission at Articles for creation

[edit]
Thank you for your recent submission to Articles for Creation. Your article submission has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. Please view your submission to see the comments left by the reviewer. You are welcome to edit the submission to address the issues raised, and resubmit once you feel they have been resolved.

Hi MicahR79, I would say that there are a number of issues to address with the "The Sater Design Collection" article. 'Notability' is borderline, generally with articles about companies we like to see at least some evidence of general news coverage, rather than only coverage that is local or specialist. The Orlando Sentinel article, for example, only name-checks Dan Sater once.

Another big problem (that has only been addressed in a small way) is the promotional nature of the article, which still reads like an advertisement in many places. This was the main problem that was raised at the AfD discussion. Prominent phrases like "servicing builders and individuals both nationally and internationally", "showcas[ing] the company’s trend-setting designs to the local and national market", "has earned an international reputation for luxury home design", "established [in] an effort to combine custom quality designs with more affordable pre-drawn plans", "has become one of the country's most recognized residential design firms" are all highly promotional and don't meet Wikipedia's requirement for verifiability and WP:NPOV.

Thirdly, the article is about the home plan company Sater Design Collection, therefore not about Dan Sater. Dan Sater's books are not relevant to the article. The spin-off companies such as Verandah Publishing, Designs Direct Publishing etc, should be mentioned briefly and neutrally, if at all.

I'm a member of WikiProject Architecture and try to look on articles about architecture or building designer practices sympathetically. Unfortunately there are too many unresolved issues to convince me to accept this one at the moment. Sionk (talk) 15:05, 23 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello MicahR79. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "The Sater Design Collection".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/The Sater Design Collection}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save page", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. HasteurBot (talk) 18:01, 30 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
