Massive changes to ASU article
[edit]The article for ASU is on my watchlist. I am struck by how many very large changes you made there, so many that I can see all of them only by looking at past 250 edits. miataracer1990: Hi there, I make my changes one at a time for each reference or thing I change; That way they're easier to track. I'm a student worker at ASU's marketing department, and I'm cleaning up links on the page; Many of them are outdated, broken or unnecessary. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
- Hi there, and thanks for your honest and friendly reply. I am not much more experienced than you are in Wikipedia policies, but I think that if you are being paid to edit an article, you should disclose that on your user page. The edits of yours I have noticed seem to be factual rather than promotional, so that is a good thing. Wikipedia is a great project to create a free online encyclopedia and I hope you will also get interested in more parts of it beyond ASU, for example improving articles for your home town or preventing articles about notable women from getting deleted. Wikipedia policy on sources
[edit]I notice in a couple of recent edits, you changed a reference URL from a published news article in AZ Central to an official statement from ASU. This is against Wikipedia policy concerning "reliable sources" (WP:RS.)
A published article in a reputable newspaper is considered a "reliable source" for statements in an article. An official statement by Michael Crow is considered a "primary source" (WP:PRIMARY)and much less "reliable" than a newspaper article. You can add a link to the statement by Crow if you think the news article is incomplete, but please do not remove links to news stories.
I can see you are trying to do a good job, so I don't want you to be blocked from editing, just to learn about policy and follow it. HouseOfChange HouseOfChange (talk) 08:18, 3 July 2018 (UTC)
ArbCom 2018 election voter message

Hello, Miataracer1990. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
