Hey, I'm wondering why you moved this template to the article namespace and started replacing transclusions of it with links to it. Yonatan talk 01:13, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The template could be hidden by default... Yonatan talk 01:18, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It wasn't hidden. It actually occupied almost the whole screen. Miaers 01:19, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I know, I'm saying there's an option to make it be hidden by default, which may be a good solution. Yonatan talk 01:31, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have never seen a hidden template and don't know how to make one. If you think that is better solution, you can just go ahead. Miaers 01:36, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Panther logos

[edit]

All the logo's I've uploaded are from http://uwmpanthers.cstv.com They may not all be currently on the site, but they are all offical logos from the athlectic department.

The Alternate "M" logo has been used in various locations including Men's Basketball and Football. Here is one such instance http://www.uwm.edu/StudentOrg/MPF/

Sorry about the confusion.

hi - can you tell me why you think this is a copyvio? The website you pointed us at seems to show a different picture at the moment - did you see that picture at that URL at some time, or is there some different URL you want us to look at? --Alvestrand 21:52, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

William H. Lacy notability

[edit]

A tag has been placed on William H. Lacy, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Gruber76 22:26, 30 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Accessed vs. Retrieved

[edit]

Wikipedia:Citing sources seems to be rather agnostic as to whether to use "Accessed" or "Retrieved" when specifying the date particular web site information was obtained from a website. There would seem to be no reason to edit an article solely to switch from one to the other. Alansohn 17:37, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't read it. But "Retrieved" makes sense gramatically. Miaers 15:16, 6 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Threading dicussions

[edit]

Hi - As per WP:TPG#Layout, please try to thread your comments on talk pages. It makes following the discussion much easier. You can learn how here. Thanks. --ZimZalaBim (talk) 18:47, 9 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Alumni-spirit-mascot-group.JPG

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Alumni-spirit-mascot-group.JPG. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 08:58, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
