[edit]Hi, the recent edit you made to Female ejaculation has been reverted, as it appears to be unconstructive. Use the sandbox for testing; if you believe the edit was constructive, ensure that you provide an informative edit summary. You may also wish to read the introduction to editing. Thanks. Duplicate images uploaded
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Nicholas John Phillips.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:Nicholas J. Phillips.jpg. The copy called Image:Nicholas J. Phillips.jpg has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.
This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot (talk) 09:14, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
Hi. Are you trying to use academic_advisor or academic_advisors as the parameter name? (Just checking; it's the latter that should work.) Sardanaphalus (talk) 04:36, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for correcting the documentation. The problem with the [Nobel icon]+[link]+[year] is solved by using {{nowrap}} (or, for a [link]+[year], an between them). I've amended the two examples you gave. I also ordered the awards chronologically and replaced some
</br>
s with<br/>
s as I think the former might be backwards...? Sardanaphalus (talk) 10:56, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
(PS You may already know this, but I believe the default position for items such as the Nobel icon is, like flag icons, to precede the links etc to which they refer. I think this is because they draw attention to these links etc, which, being in English, are read from left to right rather than right to left. I'm not 100% certain, though.)
</br>
s: Okay (but one counter-example immediately came to mind:<ref name="name"/>
– or does that work with the slash first too? I've never tried it.)
Icon position: Okay – as I said, I'm not 100% sure about it – but I'd agree with a consensus that said their drawing attention to something to their left seems less user-friendly than to their right. I think there may even have been a reaction against them altogether, so be prepared for that too! Sardanaphalus (talk) 11:16, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
Flags
[edit]Hi. I noticed you added flags to show some people's places of birth. Per WP:FLAGS we do not do this on Wikipedia; you may read the MoS page for a more detailed rationale on why this is not considered good practice. Best wishes, --John (talk) 21:31, 29 July 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry to bother you again but I see you ignored my polite request above. Could you please not add any more flags as we do not use flags this way at Wikipedia. If you are unhappy with the consensus embodied in WP:FLAGS it would be better to argue there to change the guideline than to make edits which run against consensus and which will be reverted by others. Thanks in advance. --John (talk) 01:08, 9 August 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Thanks for your suggestion, I posted my own answer in the talk page. --Plindenbaum (talk) 21:48, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
My assertion of consensus was not based on the "informal vote" (which came after my assertion, and which I did not endorse or agree with initiating. It was based on the preceding discussion, to which I invite you to join in. Thanks, --Clubjuggle T/C 13:54, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Hi, thank you for this suggestion. I guess this is the current better solution to solve this problem. Best regards. --Plindenbaum (talk) 15:19, 10 August 2008 (UTC)

It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks! Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
