Speedy deletion nomination of Jeanne DiFrancesco
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Jeanne DiFrancesco, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. —KuyaBriBriTalk 19:05, 22 December 2010 (UTC)
What to do next
[edit]First, you should read WP:COI, and forward a copy to Jeanne. Wikipedia prides itself on articles written from a Neutral Point of View. If you poke around, you'll find that we literally have thousands of rules, requirements, and guidelines, but NPOV is one of the big ones - it is part of the Five pillars.
Our experience is that articles written by a person with a conflict of interest tend to be problematic. While the guideline does not specifically single out reporting relationships, that clearly can lead to a potential conflict of interest.
The main reason the article was deleted was because it was a copyright violation of this. (Please note that even if you tell me that you wrote that text, it does not eliminate the copyright problem. Please ask if you want more details.)
Even if the copyright problem is solved, we require that articles assert Notability of their subjects. Many editors confuse notability with assertion of notability. Tom Peters is notable, but an article about Peters could be deleted if it did not contain assertions of his notability, most easily accomplished by significant coverage in independent sources. (You might note that the existing Peters article, with three references, you of which are independent, has been tagged as needing additional citations.) The article that was deleted had zero references, so none that would qualify as independent sources.--SPhilbrickT 15:00, 29 December 2010 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Jeanne DiFrancesco
[edit]You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.
Thank you.
A tag has been placed on Jeanne DiFrancesco, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be unambiguous advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.
If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}}
on the top of Jeanne DiFrancesco and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. LordVetinari (talk) 11:57, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
