"Reply to" and "indentation"

[edit]

Hi Merrypinkwoman,

It really helps other follow article talk page discussions when you properly indent and sign your posts. It may sound like I'm being a little nitpicky, but it does make a difference so if you haven't already done so, please read through WP:TPG. Also, there are a few ways to refer to other editors in your post so that receive a notification. The one you've been trying to use, {{reply to}}, is a template which uses the markup {{reply to|(other person's name)}}. You've been writing it as [[reply toI(other person's name)]] which is not correct. You also need to make sure you not only spell the other person's name correctly, but remember that usernames are case-sensitive; Otherwise the template won't work. So, if I want to reply to you, I need to use {{reply to|Merrypinkwoman}} and not {{reply to|MerryPinkwoman}}. I hope that clears a few things up. The code side of Wikipedia can be kind of tricky at first, but it's not too hard to pick up and you'll eventually get the hang of it. - Marchjuly (talk) 22:14, 5 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
