My RfA

Thank you for participating in my RfA. It was successful, and I am now, may God have mercy on us all, an administrator. Look at all the new buttons! I had heard about 'protect,' 'block user,' and 'delete,' but no one told me about 'kill,' 'eject,' and 'purée.' I appreciate the trust the community has in me, and I'll try hard not to delete the main page or block Jimbo. Thank you for all the help, guidance, good advice, and well-timed humor. -FisherQueen (Talk) 18:16, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

SonicRules

Can you put another block on him for personal attack against you and a few other users on his userpage? Or at least tell him to remove it or he will be blocked. Thanks. --User:Atomic Religione

You blocked Sonicrules2 (talk · contribs) a while back for making a death threat.[1] I just noticed a Sonicrules3 (talk · contribs) has been kicking around. This is undoubtedly a sock for a number of reasons, but here he admits to it and explains the reason for the threat.[2] Please see if we can block the sock and inform the user that if he wants to return to editing Wikipedia, sock puppetry is not the way to go. –Gunslinger47 04:21, 4 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This user is obviously a troll, I don't believe for a second that someone else is to blame for his threats and neither should this be a acceptable excuse, there is no excuse for kind of behavior he has been on Wikipedia for months this isn't a case of a new user not understanding what Wikipedia is. I don't think this user should be allowed to edit Wikipedia even if he stops the sock puppetry he seems to have no intention to do anything expect troll and vandalise.Sonic Hog

He is a troll. His reason for the threat is far too outlandish to be believed. Hell, he's even saying now that I am the friend that stole his password and made the threat. He has vandalised numerous pages, erasing the Criticism of Pokémon page and its accompanying talk page numerous times. He must be blocked, and blocked soon. No do not do it please at least until I find my friend he is someone on this siteSonicrules3 13:16, 4 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You deleted Diabulimia as g1 - patent nonsense. However it's not - see this AP news story about it. Can you please reverse your deletion? Ariel. 00:16, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Anittas

Just to make it clear, the ANI discussion started after I reported him. That, and editing by proxy for a blocked user is clear meatpuppetry if not sockpuppetry. Will (talk) 20:48, 26 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Automation Studio

Hi, I've seen that you deleted the Automation Studio article, and the reason given in the deletion log was that a spam robot (or something like that) created this article. I'd like to speak with you about this and to re-create this page, which speaks about a rather acknowledged software and that was not written in a controversial way.

I had put up an article for AfD Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kelly Killoren Bensimon and forgot to notify the creator. When I remembered to, I saw the history of this article and all the copyvio involved. Should he/she be blocked now and this afd closed? -WarthogDemon 22:49, 26 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. :) I just wish I had remembered to check the person's talk page before I even posted the afd. I really should start doing that; I once nearly put a legit article up for afd because a spammer rewrote the whole page. :P -WarthogDemon 23:21, 26 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your actions, an anon IP had stepped in but I felt an admin may make them think twice, as it turns out the warnings didn't stop him, and so after a half hour vandal spree he has now been banned. Thanks for your time on this. Darrenhusted 12:00, 27 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of A Band of Orcs (band) page

I'm just curious why this page didn't meet criteria when they're single won an award from a notable media website GarageBand.com, which is even listed as one in wikipedia.

infoUSA page

I am not sure why the content on this page has been deleted. You stated that the reason was because of advertising, but all I see are facts about the company. If there is a specific sentence thats seems like advertising to you then only remove that instead of all the content or fix the wording. Because all it does is hurt other users who would like to know more about the company other than a 3 year old controversy that has since been resolved. I looked at infoUSA's competitors pages such as Dunn & Bradstreet or Experian and I don't see how that content is stated any different, but yet it has been left alone.

I was glad to see that more information about infoUSA had been posted but when I saw that the user who posted it worked for the company I changed some of the wording they used to make it unbiased. Please use the same concept istead of removing everything. --Thanks for your consideration.

About deleted article

I wish to debate your recent decision to delete Professor Dr Kriengsak Chareonwongsak’s biography from Wikipedia’s Website for reason of category a7: Unremarkable people, groups, companies and web content. I argue that Professor Chareonwongsak is indeed a highly notable character both within Thailand and abroad. Professor Chareonwongsak’s extensive CV record bears witness to his phenomenal capacity and commitment to the production of finished work of excellence. He has presented over 200 academic papers at international conferences, thus his academic research is acceptable and deemed to be significant and of cutting-edge relevance. In addition, Professor Chareonwongsak has presented his viewpoints to government and non-government organizations, academic institutions and community groups in over 2,200 lectures in fifty countries. Hence, he is known as a popular conference speaker whose strong and influential views are significant to the positive development of societies everywhere. Moreover, his scholarly interests are multi-disciplinary in scope, encompassing economics, econometrics, education, future studies, management, political science, and policy, among others. Thus, development is full-orbed, multifaceted and considered extensively when under his supervision.

In September 2006, he was an invited lecturer on the topic of “New thinking and the need for a comprehensive security approach” at a regional seminar for parliamentarians from South-East Asia and the Asia-Pacific Region concerning security sector reform in national and regional contexts. This was globally organized by the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Thailand and the Inter-Parliamentary Union in cooperation with the Geneva Centre for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces. In Rome, Italy, December 2005, Professor Chareonwongsak was invited to speak at an international dialogue between Asian and European Democrats, in the conference “Democrazia è Libertà, La Margherita” on “A new Europe/Asia strategic partnership: The future is now.” As Thailand’s representative at international conferences, Professor Chareonwongsak has represented Thailand at conferences in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and North America. Most recently, in March 2007, he represented Thailand at the 2007 Skoll World Forum on Social Entrepreneurship, The Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship at the Said Business School, Oxford University. In Munich, Germany, March 2007, he attended The 13th International Conference on Competition and the 14th European Competition Day: Competition as a Cornerstone of a free Economic and Social Order, organized by the German Federal Cartel Office (FCO) and the Friedrich Naumann Foundation.

These are just some examples of very many occasions in which he was selectively sought out to make worthwhile contributions internationally. Dr Kriengsak Chareonwongsak has extensive experience and expertise in policy formation, organizational restructuring, and critical analysis of economic and related issues. His directives are recognized as timely, applicable, and sustainable both internationally and in Thailand. He is a valuable contributor to journals of several kinds. For example, in 2006, he wrote on “Values Education in Thailand: Preparation for Globalization, for the Academic Seminar for Values Education for Citizens in the New Century, pp. 319-345. Hong Kong: Hong Kong Institute of Educational Research, Chinese University Press. In 2005, he and his son Chareonwongsak, A. P. published their work on “A Development Gap in the GMS,” in Jorn Dosch, Colin Durkop & Nguyen Xuan Trang (Eds.), Economic and Non-traditional Security Cooperation in the Greater Mekong Sub-region(GMS), pp.13-18. Singapore: Singapore Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung. Another significant work was published in 2002, in Technology in Society, 24(3), pp. 191-206, on the topic of “Globalization and Technology: How Will They Change Society?”

Besides being well known as a leading intellectual in Thailand, he has completed an effective term as a national level politician and is currently holding position on the Executive Board of the Democrat Party, Thailand’s oldest. He is also a newspaper columnist and a respected journalist having delivered viewpoints, criticisms and perspectives on Thailand’s development for many years now. He is the author of over one hundred books, some of these best sellers. He has four books in the English language: "Insights into Thailand’s Post-Crisis Economy;" "Reflections on the Economy: An Economist’s View of Thailand’s Recent Past," “Critiquing Thaksin’s Policies,” and “The Pre-Death Phase Of Thaksinomics: Perspectives on Economics, Politics and Society in Thaksin’s Regime.” He has been a columnist and is a familiar writer for more than thirty major Thai and English magazines and newspapers, publishing extensively both in scholarly and popular sources, including the top Thai language newspaper, Matichon with a circulation of about 300,000, and The Bangkok Post, which is Thailand’s top daily English newspaper, with a circulation of approximately 450,000.

Not only is he accepted and praised as an academic of outstanding ability, but others recognize the significance of who he is and what he has to advise and express and thus respond accordingly by interviewing him for his views and opinions on a wide variety of issues, which are then disseminated via respected media resources. For example, in September 2006, he was interviewed by Mr Jürgen kremb, a journalist from Der Spiegel Magazine, Germany, on “Thai Political Issues in the future.” In October 2006, he was interviewed by journalist Pio d'Emilia, of Italian 24 News Channel “SKY TG24”, Italy on “Thai Political Issues, Current and Future.” In April 2007, he was interviewed by Mr Paul Solman, the Business and Economics Correspondent for “The News Hour with Jim Lehrer”, USA, on “Insights on Thai Political Issues, Current and Future.” Being a leader of significance in our age, of significant knowledge, understanding and achievement, he is thus sought out to speak on issues of significance in a globalized world, in which every country’s concerns impinge on the rights and concerns of others. In our world today there are no international backwaters, the tides have turned. Moreover, as we are now living in an extremely complex and globalized world today, our very survival as a race living together prosperously and at peace requires a delicacy of leadership, finely balanced understanding, well-judged sensitivity, wisdom, flexibility, integrity and tolerance. These, however, are unseen character traits denoting the higher moral qualities of an individual, often little prized and overlooked, yet in short supply and much needed. Such qualities are honed by much refining experience. Professor Chareonwongsak is one such rare individual who is world acclaimed as an all-rounder of remarkable character. His vast array of achievements would have been impossible to gain if not for a vast vision, an excellent character and the inherent or learned ability to attain to these values.

He is at present a Senior Fellow at Harvard University’s Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business and Government, an Associate at the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs, Harvard University, USA, and also a Visiting Fellow at the Oxford Internet Institute, University of Oxford, UK. In addition to the valued academic and research work that he is undertaking while a Fellow in these revered institutions, he will also be deeply involved in leading two organizations that he initiated in 2007, in the field of Social Entrepreneurship. His organization, “Avante change for Social Entrepreneurship (SE),” registered in Cambridge, MA, for example marks a timely and highly significant collaboration of international experts to the potential of populations worldwide, improving dire social conditions and seeing large-scale development take place from a grass-roots level and upwards. This will be run in cooperation with his second organization, “Political leaders for Social Entrepreneurship (SE),” which further enlarges and enables these actions from a more formalized, political perspective. As these complex cooperative endeavours are of high significance amongst the vast populations of Asia and across the world, so is the mover who leads and initiates these positive growth actions. Not only so, but he deserves the honour of being recognized by name on such a public website as Wikipedia is privileged to be. He is a leading hope for Thailand’s future and is a leader amongst fine and outstanding leaders worldwide. His intense involvement in the leadership and politics of social development, and his recognition as an able and gifted communicator sought out in Thailand and abroad on numerous occasions in order to lecture, lead panel discussions and urge future change initiatives forward in cooperation with associative international social-change agents, continues to qualify him for biography inclusion on the Wikipedia Encyclopedia web site in English. I believe him to be a wise choice for your web site, and therefore request that his biography be reinstated forthwith on Wikipedia, and with appreciation.

Redirects from quotes

Merope, I see I deleted one and you declined to delete another, so perhaps we should consult, since Wiendietry seems about to initiate a large project with them. (I'm copying this to him) These are almost always created when an article mistakenly titled in quotes is moved to a correct title without the quotes. Probably the person moving the article does not generally realize that the redirect will be left behind. In general they're worthless, nobody searching is likely to use them deliberately, and any external search engine would find them perfectly well. and it will clean up WP a little, though it is not one of the high priority tasks. Comments? --I'll look here. DGG (talk) 00:07, 15 July 2007 (UTC) this is presently under discussion at TfD, at [4], so you will probably want to comment there. Richmond Hardcore

I honestly believe this needs and article along with some of the other hardcore scenes in the US, as it is a larger scene than many of the other ones that have individual pages. Once it is posted as a scene on the Hardcore Punk wikipedia page, it will get more attention and be edited to more information. I also was not done with the article, that was just a quick save. May I recreate it?--Hawk27 16:22, 16 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't tag this article with {{db-copyvio}} because I couldn't find the source. I guess in the future I'll just tag such obvious and blatant copyvios, rather than report them to WP:CP. Cheers, Flyguy649 talk contribs 16:26, 16 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Specialized Transportation Inc.

How can you say that I am blatantly advertising for a company when the article is about how the company has played a major role in the transportation industry. This article has not consisted of anything worse than other trucking articles such as FedEx, or ABF Frieght Systems Inc.

What is it going to take to get this article up?!

"spamming"

I never spammed anyone I sent messages to people who just like me are of acadian descent asking for their help. I'm not selling anything or promoting my paid services, I'm just asking for help to defend our endangered own culture. I didnt know about the 3 revert rule and I thank you for telling me about it. This guy Mad jack keeps reverting my edits, my adds and thinks he's an admin. I just don;'t think it's fair, i've worked so hard in the past to improve the list of french-american page and he keeps butchering it. If you may help me, I'd really appreciate it as well. thanks Abdelkweli 15:49, 17 July 2007 (UTC) And unless you're one of his good friends (Jack O'Lantern) you'll see that he's reverted more than three times in the past 24 hours. take care[reply]

fan 1967

what i said to him is just between myself and him, he's attacked me in the past, so what? did you say something about it? As to jack o'lantern well i'm also enforcing my policy that jack o'lantern has no rights to butcher pages with no proofs. I've talked on the talk page. Has Jack'O lantern talked about deleting people of the article on the talk page? NO! block me fine if that's your only solution for all the evil i've done on wikipedia, i.e. improve articles, help the community and newbies, ppl that you barely have any respect for. Abdelkweli 15:56, 17 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

fan 1967 is long gone, it wasnt meant to be a personal attack. just i have it bitter that he was really a pain to me last year when i was just starting. thanks and take care. As to jack O'Lantern I really worked hard last year to create a list of french-americans and he killed it at once with no reasons. I just felt like it wasnt fair, why should he be right? He should have discussed why he wanted certain people of the list before doing so. What do you think? take care and thanks for your help with regard to reverts and wiki policies. cajuns

Cajuns are french americans and so are acadians so I think it's important to have a main list and sub-lists. Let me please add the cajuns back it doesn't make any sense to separate them. Do we separate Italian-Americans from Chicago and Italian-Americans from New York. They are two very different groups of people yet classified under a main page. Cajuns and Acadians have more history but they remain french-americans as a whole. I'm myself acadian but I'm also and more importantly a french-american. Abdelkweli 21:42, 17 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sterling Simms

Why are you deciding if my article was Notable. On the album of Jay-Z, he made an appearance. So i linkt my article with this. This is why it's notable. What must i do to let it stay there? Greetings

Images

But the WP:FU clearly states: Cover art: Cover art from various items, for identification only in the context of critical commentary of that item (not for identification without critical commentary). The critical commentary is the context of the article in which the albums are discussed at length. The only reason why I reverted the article in question was because I believed it violated this and it seemed that Durin had comitted vandalism, otherwise I wouldn't of reverted it and would have just waited for someone else to confront him upon the issue. I am clearly not a vandal, coming onto wikipedia everyday to clear vandalism and to factualize the articles, and I would not have reverted Durin's edit had I known that WP:FU was not justification for revert. Knight Whitefire 17:35, 18 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

But the album itself is within the first paragraph, or how much critical commentary would have to be within the first paragraph? Because I'm on everyday and I pretty much write the whole Panic! article. Anyway I'll read into this and find a way to keep the images. Knight Whitefire 18:08, 18 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings,

A few moments ago you deleted http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Association-of-american-cancer-institutes This page doesn't violate and copyright laws, and is released under GPL version 2 at the behest of the owners of the material. I don't work for them, or have any personal involvement with the institutes so there isn't a conflict of interest. Because the page isn't either volatile or defamatory in nature I have reopened the entry.

Is there any other reason why this would be closed?

Thanks mike

The Gentleman's Walk

The Gentleman's walk is certainly not nonsense. While it is still in its early stages, the gentleman's walk is a fad that has been catching on throughout Rhode Island and Mass. I was just confused why i spent so much time creating the article to have it deleted within minutes?

Critical Commentary

Ok, I read what you said about having to have critical commentary within the first paragraph and I was wondering, do you mean first paragraph of the whole article or first paragraph of the discography? Knight Whitefire 04:27, 19 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Abdelkweli seems to be violating Wikipedia:Harassment, having wiki-stalked and then pointlessly reverted me on Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Winona Ryder, Criss Angel, and a few others, because of our disagreement on List of French Americans. Since you're an administrator and have dealt with him before, maybe you could do something. Cheers, Mad Jack 19:25, 19 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Merope please let Jack O'Lantern he is no admin and he doesn't have rights to butcher other people's work. His discussion page isfull of complaints and I'm sick of having to deal with him. I understand he is an intense contributor but he keeps violating WP:PG and the 3 revert rule. Please help as you know you've dealt with him before. Thanks a lot, your help is much appreicated. Abdelkweli 19:39, 19 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

For the record, I haven't ever broken 3RR in my history of editing. I also am not sure what in WP:PG I could've violated, and, in fact, I spend a lot of time enforcing parts of it. As for my talk page, among other things, it's also full of requests for assistance or copy-editing to prepare an article for featured status or the like. Mad Jack 19:49, 19 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Please read my discussion page where you acknowledged that you violated it. You contribute intensively maybe more than me in terms of correcting programming errors, but while you strive doing so you violate many rules of WP:PG, please read extensively, especially the last couple of paragraphs. Take care. Abdelkweli 20:18, 19 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

french-americans

please accept this analogy. Native Americans can be cherokee yet they remind native americans. True that theyre far from related to the french, but my people believe that after we were left by the french kindgom, isolated we developed a more appropriate culture to our surroundings but all of us french-americans were glad to reunite after the american buyout of the Louisiana territories. We need to either erase the french american list as all of them are either acadian, cajuns or else; or we need to make a main-list with sub-list which i think is a better solution. I've tried to give an extensive explanation on the talk page of the french-american as I dont mean to pollute your wall. take care Abdelkweli 20:51, 19 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

UPCI Page

I have made numerous comments on the UPCI discussion page of why I have deleted certain content about articles that need not be put on the UPCI page such as Jews that killed Jesus. This has nothing to do with info for the UPCI page as well the other criticism articles.

UPCI Page

Here are some of the comments i have left on this page:

Once Again please cease from posting irrelevant articles about Jews Killed Jesus and other pointless criticisms of the UPCI and please only add churches to the Notable churches piece that meet the criteria

[edit] Critics There are critics of every denomination in religion. We do not need to list them on this page. Also when putting up notable people please put people on there are nationally and globally known for impacting the UPC

again i have put my reasons on the discussion page I just cant figure out how to put my name at the end.

I believe that user:pascack is back as another sockpuppet. A brand new user (jjj222) has made edits on a pascack pet project, discrediting Joe Girardi as a yankee. and 192.234.99.1 is not blocked, which is his ip. Mghabmw 17:32, 21 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This guy is out of control. My main change on the Girardi site was to add a comment that he currently is an analyst on the YES Network. The change to the colors on the info box that he refers to was made by Soxrockprojects, who made the colors both for the Cubs and Yankees as a compromise. I did nothing out of line.Jjj222 17:41, 21 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You also put cubs colors on top and were warned to stay away from the articles that put you in trouble, if you truly are Pascack. In that case, you're supposed to be blocked anyway!
