Speedy deletion nomination of User:Merge4wear
[edit]A tag has been placed on your user page, User:Merge4wear, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be blatant advertising which only promotes or publicises a company, product, group or service, and which is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages; user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Cahk (talk) 08:01, 14 December 2016 (UTC)
There have been two problems identified with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing.
If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}}
at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
- Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
- Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
{{unblock|Your reason here}}
at the bottom of your talk page, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Merge4wear (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))
Request reason:
I think what I did wrong was insert graphics that were too commercial. And maybe the bios were too much, also? I made this same mistake with the Wikipedia site for https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wave_Loch - but fixed it and got unblocked. I want to stay within Wikipedia parameters. The closest Wiki to this is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stance_(brand) Should it be simple like that? I would like to change the username to Merge4_ (brand). I have written 24 books and scores of magazine articles and use Wikipedia religiously: www.benmarcusrules.com. I would rather drink muddy water and sleep in a hollow log than defile Wikipedia. Please let me know what I can do to make this page legal. Thank you.
Decline reason:
If you are going to edit again, it will be better for you to return to your original account, because this one's user name doesn't comply with Wikipedia's user name policy. It would be possible to change this account's user name, but there isn't any point in doing that, since you have another account which you seem willing to use. However, you should not edit, apart from on your own talk pages, until it is decided whether your blocked status can be cancelled. I have posted a fairly long message at User talk:Thebenm, which I hope will make the various issues clearer. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 10:12, 15 December 2016 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
- Your basic error was in using the userpage as a space in which to write an article. The userpage is intended as a page in which users can indicate their interests, activities, skills, abilities, aspirations, etc., as they apply to their Wikipedia editing. Brief biographical details are also acceptable. If you wish to write an article about, for example, merge4wear, this must be done as an article, not as a userpage. In doing so be careful to avoid promotional edits. --Anthony Bradbury"talk" 11:31, 14 December 2016 (UTC)
- Before I consider your unblock request, there is something I would like you to clarify. This account has never edited the article Wave Loch, so you must have been using another account when you "made this same mistake" there and then "fixed it and got unblocked". What was the name of that other account? Also, have you used any more accounts, apart from that one and this one? The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 12:05, 14 December 2016 (UTC)

Request reason:
JamesBWatson the writing I did for Wave Loch was under "thebenm" - I started the article and then others filled it in. That was my intention with Merge4wear. I believe the only two accounts I have used are "thebenm" and "merge4wear". Anthony.Bradbury - so if I start an article about Merge4wear it should be under my username - thebenm - and not under Merge4wear? Thanks for your guidance. I think I get the picture now. I just wanted to start the merge4wear page and then let others add in, but apparently went about that wrong. Please let me know how I should proceed.
Decline reason:
Procedural decline of duplicate request. Please post responses to administrator queries below the question, not in a new unblock request. ~ Rob13Talk 04:39, 15 December 2016 (UTC)
