Information

[edit]

Hi, MercifulEarthMother. Please make an effort to respond to good faith inquiries from other editors rather than simply reverting back to your preferred version. You should acquaint yourself with Wikipedia:BOLD, revert, discuss cycle to discover the accepted convention for addressing editing differences. I'll watch list this page in the event you have any questions. Tiderolls 12:35, 26 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Overcategorization

[edit]

Please stop adding so many categories to so many articles. I would suggest reading WP:OVERCATEGORIZATION. Your enthusiasm is a wonderful thing. You might edit more cautiously and grow more familiar with Wikipedia's ways of doing things. Doczilla @SUPERHEROLOGIST 07:33, 11 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop oversimplifying everything, it’s like you aren’t even paying attention to anything — Preceding comment was unsigned by User: MercifulEarthMother 12:29, 13 June 2022‎
You might want to acquaint yourself with Wikipedia:OVERCATEGORIZATION and find out what happened to the time and efforts of other Wikipedia editors who kept adding categories in great numbers and specificity. What you're doing is nothing new. It happens over and over, and that work keeps getting undone by more experienced editors. Your enthusiasm is a wonderful. I would hate to see it go to waste. Doczilla @SUPERHEROLOGIST 07:06, 14 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Well why do put certain articles in categories that we already have specific ones for that franchise? MercifulEarthMother 12:29, 14 June 2022‎ (UTC)[reply]

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution

[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Izanagi into Izanami. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. DanCherek (talk) 18:11, 17 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

June 2022

[edit]

Information icon Hi MercifulEarthMother! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of Proserpina several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.

All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree at Talk:Proserpina, please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. Thank you. NebY (talk) 19:23, 17 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Libera, Proserpina and wine.

[edit]

Hi. Very little is known of Libera other than her partnership with Liber; she is not listed as a wine goddess in any scholarly pubication I know of; by the time she merges into a new identity as equivalent to Persephone, daughter of Ceres, very few traces remain of her Roman identity and cult. See also the Ceres (mythology) article. If you really believe she qualifies as a goddess of wine and beer, you'll need support from a reliable source. "Peace god" Dagan?

[edit]

I wrote most of the Dagan page and I'd like to ask on what basis you've decided to categorize him as a peace god? Technically due to his position in royal ideology of Mari it is not exactly possible to pinpoint him as a god of "war" and "peace," the prosperity he was associated with would obviously be whatever benefited the area he was worshiped in, which would depend on a variety of political factors and thus be in flux. Strikes me as both not entirely correct and as possible WP:Overcategorization issue.HaniwaEnthusiast (talk) 18:03, 20 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with the other concerns about overcategorization, such as adding Category:Spring (season) to Iðunn as well as other edits related to Norse mythology. When several editors bring this concern up, you may want to slown down a bit and realize that you might be too eager to add categories to articles. People have been very patient here but there is a point where it becomes disruptive. TylerBurden (talk) 12:21, 23 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Apology notice

[edit]

I'm so sorry for editing the Superman (twice), Superman (Earth-One), and both Superboy (Kal-El, once Kon-El, twice) pages since last month. What I did was very wrong. Please forgive me. Sundropie (talk) 20:28, 28 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Soldier Boy categories

[edit]

Hello, regarding your DC Comics category additions to the Soldier Boy article, I thought I should let you know that it is not accurate to categorise Soldier Boy as a DC Comics character, as he never appeared in any comics published by DC. Only the first six issues of The Boys were published by DC’s WildStorm imprint before the series movies to Dynamite Entertainment. And Soldier Boy made his first appearance in Herogasm #1, which was published by Dynamite Entertainment in 2009, which was long after DC had stopped publishing The Boys.
