Relevant information
[edit]Removing the SoS from the PPS' pages is not helpful. The PPS is chosen by and serves the SoS, it is relevant information. TheMace09 (talk) 21:08, 26 May 2019 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm Viewratio. I noticed that you recently removed content from John Nash, Baron Nash without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Removal of unpaid positions from officeholder inbox
[edit]Hi Member1494 (talk · contribs). I notice you've been wholesale removing positions such as PPS and AW from the Officeholder Infobox on UK MPs. I'm a bit confused by the change as I don't think anyone would dispute that PPS and AW are 'offices', and there is no requirement for an office to be paid to be considered as such. Has some kind of consensus been established for this change? Hugsyrup (talk) 12:00, 16 July 2019 (UTC)
Hi, Hugsyrup (talk · contribs) there was a precedent until fairly recently that roles that are often not very well documented (such as assistant whips or departmental PPS, which often change without a clear successor or are left unfilled) to be omitted infoboxes have a tendency to become incorrect/messy/inconsistent in such circumstances. I do not dispute that they are indeed positions, however given their junior status and the fact they carry with them no official status within the parliamentary hierarchy that they would be better kept into the body of the text. Parliamentary Under Secretary and above would be appropriate for infoboxes. I don't know why the role as a PPS could not just be a line within the 'parliamentary career' section of most articles. Happy to discuss further ways to improve and standardise the system as I believe this would be beneficial to the articles.
- Thanks for the reply. I've replied at the infobox talk page to keep everything in one place. Hugsyrup (talk) 15:27, 16 July 2019 (UTC)
