If this was the first article that you created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
The page Draft:Battle of Umberkhind has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appeared to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appeared to be a direct copy from https://archive.org/stream/in.ernet.dli.2015.32141/2015.32141.New-History-Of-The-Marathas--Vol1_djvu.txt. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition has been be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
Please do not recreate the material without addressing these concerns, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If you think this page should not have been deleted for this reason, you may contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you may open a discussion at Wikipedia:Deletion Review. [edit]Speedy deletion nomination of Battle of Uruli
[edit]Hello Melechha,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Battle of Uruli for deletion, because it's a redirect from an article title to a namespace that's not for articles.
If you don't want Battle of Uruli to be deleted, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

[edit]Hello Melechha! Your additions to Siege of Ponda have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.
- You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
- Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
- We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
- If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. — SamX [talk · contribs] 19:02, 4 August 2023 (UTC)
- I got it Melechha (talk) 20:29, 4 August 2023 (UTC)
Your recent editing history at Battle of Sangamner shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.
Additionally, accusing other good-faith editors of vandalism is inappropriate and may be considered a personal attack. — SamX [talk · contribs] 01:10, 8 August 2023 (UTC)
- So what is the solution? If I have primary sources which is backing my point and other editors don't have it and just reverting my edits without giving any citation to bolster their changes then how this is fair? Melechha (talk) 07:09, 8 August 2023 (UTC)
- Consider this a homework assignment on which hinges your unblocking. The solution is right there before you. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 17:13, 13 August 2023 (UTC)

Introduction to contentious topics
[edit]You have recently edited a page related to India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, a topic designated as contentious. This standard message is designed as an introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially-designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template. — SamX [talk · contribs] 21:57, 5 August 2023 (UTC)

{{unblock reviewed |1=I have sincerely waited for another 6 months to get unblocked and I want to keep this perseverance for good, I had already acknowledged the mistakes in my previous request which led to my block. But please understand that I now understand the consequences of all of my deeds done in the past, I'll start a whole new Wikipedia journey from now on and learn from the mistakes I have made, I am applying under [[WP:SO]] and seek a 2nd chance. Checkuser technical data shows no evidence of recent block evasion. It's a noisy range, but I would be rather surprised if any recent block evasion had taken place here. --Yamla (talk) 17:00, 9 September 2024 (UTC)
- Yes, there's no block evasion done in past 6 months if you check thoroughly. HistoryofAryavart (talk) 18:02, 9 September 2024 (UTC)
- Can you explain some of the constructive edits you'd like to make? I'd be inclined to unblock, provided you accept a topic ban on the Maratha Confederacy, broadly construed (so nothing about wars they were involved with). Elli (talk | contribs) 15:24, 6 October 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for replying, I can make constructive edits for any Indian history related articles except Maratha Confederacy ofcourse, but to be specific I'd like to do edits in Gupta Empire related articles. HistoryofAryavart (talk) 16:37, 14 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Elli: I think this answer is fine. I would also be inclined to accept a conditional unblock with a topic ban from Maratha Confederacy, broadly construed. Best, HouseBlaster (talk • he/they) 16:11, 20 October 2024 (UTC)
- Looks good, yeah. Courcelles do you have any objection here? Or are you good with an unblock with the topic-ban. Elli (talk | contribs) 05:28, 27 October 2024 (UTC)
