Owned
[edit]The image Disneysceneit.jpg has been removed from the article Owned by someone and I can't disagree with him/her. Basically, the image doesn't add anything to the article; in particular if the reader doesn't know the rules of the game. For most people (who don't know that game), it'll just be a picture of a board game. - Simeon87 13:54, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
Image tagging for Image:Self-Portrait by Thomas Smith circa 1680.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Self-Portrait by Thomas Smith circa 1680.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

License tagging for Image:Russianschoolroom.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Russianschoolroom.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Removing user talk
[edit]Please don't remove user talk from your talk page without archiving it. Replacing it with "No one has left a comment yet. Be the first to leave a comment!" is also kinda weird because people have commented in the past on your talk page. - Simeon87 11:53, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for File:Russianschoolroom.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Russianschoolroom.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Alex Spade (talk) 19:31, 21 September 2009 (UTC)
Unreferenced BLPs
[edit]Hello Megaswimmer! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 233 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:
- Sherrie Schneider - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Orphaned non-free media (File:Disneysceneit.jpg)
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Disneysceneit.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Calliopejen1 (talk) 19:42, 8 August 2011 (UTC)
