Hello, Megancloran, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Shalor and I work with the Wiki Education Foundation; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Reliable sources

[edit]

Hello Megancloran, thank you for your efforts to improve Wikipedia articles. But PR publications like unlockinsights.com, where involved authors are primarily concerned with polishing the reputation of their business, are not reliable sources. You should try to base content on independent expert sources (books, acknowledged mainstream journals, knowledgeable journalists in news media) without a direct financial stake in the matter. How a branche or business wants to present itself to further their commercial goals is largely irrelevant in an encyclopedic context. Please see WP:RS for more information about Wikipedia's criteria for reliable sources. If you have any question about this or other aspects of Wikipedia editing, please feel free to ask or post at WP:Teahouse, a forum for new editors. Best regards. • Please stop using blogs and low-quality marketing sites as references - Wikipedia is not a trade magazine for business-related buzz, but an encyclopedia focussing on objective facts that can be verified by uninvolved, non-promotional sources. Thank you for your consideration. GermanJoe (talk) 19:08, 2 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. GermanJoe (talk) 08:46, 8 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • If you have questions about these guidelines, please ask anytime (see links in the first message on top), but do not make similar edits without discussing the issue first. Thank you. GermanJoe (talk) 08:49, 8 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
