About Allahdad Bohyo

No problem Medtopic. It was my pleasure. Afghan Historian 06:21, 15 June 2006 (UTC)

AfDing...

Hi, I'd just like to remind you to use edit summaries. Ususually its not all that important, but in the case of nominating something for deletion it is much more important. It helps people like me who just like to skim there watch list and it makes reading the page history alot easier (you know, in the event it survives and someone wants to check to see if it's been nominated before). Thanks, ---J.S (t|c) 16:49, 15 June 2006 (UTC)

I saw that your attempt to speedy delete Dr. Albert Benner was removed.

Frankly, all I did was slap on a {{Template:Db-repost}} tag, since I ran across it in the deletion log (see here). No, he doesn't look particularly notable to me, but it's borderline not obvious, so I didn't follow up. --Calton | Talk 04:42, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

Hi,

This is in relation to articles related to visual perception which have been removed by you due to copyright issues. Mach Bands is a particular one in which information contributed by Dale Purves at Neuroscience, Duke Medical Center, was removed. I am his assistant who has been inserting the articles. We have removed any contributions which would link to or in any manner infringe on copyright issues. I request that we be able to re-enter his ideas with improvements made specifically for Wikipedia, which in no way will be a mirror of any other figures. We have removed figures for Mach bands, Chubb illusion, etc. Please let us know if this is ok because we would like to continue our work.--Robert 13:19, 26 June 2006 (UTC)

John Daniel Bergin

I note you moved Dr. John Bergin to John Daniel Bergin. I undertand removing the title, but I wonder if there is a policy of whether it is preferable to use middle names, or rather something like "John Bergin (doctor)" given that his middle name was probably not so much in circulation? Regarding Jai Menon AFD

Are you willing to change your vote on this-- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Dr._Jaishankar_Menon-- after you see the new article? Lots of info has been added. Please take a look (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jai_Menon), reconsider, and think about changing your vote to keep. Thanks. Reppin the bay 02:48, 23 July 2006 (UTC)

Gulf Centre / Omar Said Al-Hassan

hi there - i notice you've put this page in its correct place, thanks! - I hope you don't mind me removing the unferenced tag you put on it earlier - I've added a link to their site, and hope that that will suffice.... cheers, Petesmiles 00:57, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

Just a note to let you know the article has been completely rewritten in the time since you voted on AfD. dryguy 15:55, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

Veterinary surgery

I wanted to thank you for your help in expanding the veterinary surgery page. The work that you and Joel did helped to enhance Wikipedia instead of deleting unkept potential. Thank you again. Agne 04:18, 30 July 2006 (UTC)

Jane Broadbent

I notice you've put a "copyright violation" on Jane Broadbent's page. This is not the case: the text on the web site you refer to was written by me - as was the text on wikipedia. I am the person responsible at Roehampton University for this. Could you remove this copyright message?—The preceding unsigned comment was added by L h hurley (talkcontribs) 16:09, 3 August 2006 (UTC).

The page indicates the copyright is held by Roehamptom University. Various Wikipedia policies and guidelines other than those on copyrights dictate that you should not copy and paste this information. Per Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not, Wikipedia is not a mirror nor is it a directory. Per Wikipedia:Autobiography, "You should wait for others to write an article about subjects in which you are personally involved. This applies to articles about you, your achievements, your business, your publications, your website, your relatives, and any other possible conflict of interest." There are additional concerns regarding WP:V and WP:OR since you authored the original article. Medtopic 20:24, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

Edit summaries

Hi, I'd just like to leave this message to say thanks for your use of edit summaries. It really helps when doing RC patrol and makes it really easy to see that an edit was not vandalism. The problem is that many users don't use edit summaries, but I thought I just message you to say thanks, and keep it up! Martinp23 21:09, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

You're welcome :P Martinp23 14:06, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

Your question

Hi. I didn't sign your name. I moved the copyright violation listing that you added to "poster claims to be author or have permission" due to the comments posted here. I didn't think that was confusing, if you disagree I apologise. I will try to make any further such edits clearer.

Sounds good. Thanks for the clarification! -Medtopic 21:38, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

Moving Indian Biographies

Indian Names have a different convention. Hence your "move" of M.Karunanithi to Muthuvel Karunanithi will lead to confusion. If you are following the western convention it should be Karunanithi Muthuvel and not Muthuvel Karunanithi. If it is Indian Convention it is Just M.Karunanithi. The name you have given does not suit anything. Please do the needful Doctor Bruno 14:47, 17 August 2006 (UTC)

Thomas Harrison Butler

If you want to remove Dr. Butler's title and use his surname then it should be 'Harrison Butler' and not 'Butler' since it's double-barreled.

'anyone' is better than 'those' in this context, please don't change it again. Rentwa 18:54, 21 August 2006 (UTC)

I freely admit that I was ignorant of the guidelines on academic (or in this case professional) titles - my account is three weeks old as I type, and was somewhat younger when I wrote the article - thankyou for alerting me to them.

You write:

I had/have no reason to believe that his name must appear as either "Dr. Butler" or "Harrison Butler"

On the contrary, it should have been obvious to you that his surname was 'Harrison Butler' from the second paragraph (or the link at the bottom where Br. Butler signs himself 'T. Harrison Butler') - you do read the articles you edit, don't you?

For the double-barelled name 'Smith Jones', 'Mr. Jones' is an acceptable form of address, which is why I used 'Dr. Butler' (see link). If you aren't familiar with British naming etiquette perhaps you should refrain from editing aticles about British people?

My comments weren't confrontational, but your reply certainly is. Maybe you need to read Wikipedia:Assume good faith? Re. your supposed improvements, perhaps you can tell me what they were - your removal of the title was sloppy (since you left it in the link at the bottom), incorrect since you apparently don't understand double-barrelled names, pedantic, and I had to remove your poor English. Some improvement!

Do you contribute articles of your own, or just 'improve' other people's work? Rentwa 12:22, 22 August 2006 (UTC)

Okay, no hard feelings. Your minor edits have improved the article, thanks. Rentwa 22:07, 22 August 2006 (UTC)

Hello! I have added a few links to the article in question. Please fel free to inform me whether these are satisfactory links. Thank you for reminding me about this. --Siva1979Talk to me 16:23, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

Dr Allahdad Bohyo

A notable Sindhi writer has been deleted with your recommendation. The writer has passed away in 1994 but his contributions for the sindhi language has been phenominal. No doubt you may not find any of references on the internet due to lack of sindhi literature or awareness on internet. He has done his Ph.D in socio-linguistics on " comparative study of Sindhi language spoken: Urbun and ural". He was one of the biggest contributer to sindhi linguistics. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Medtopic (talkcontribs) 08:51, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
