Ethnic Arab population inaccuracies

[edit]

Hi. I'm new to wiki as you can tell. The world ethnic population page has notable inaccuracies. I believe the entire north Africa and east African and Near East and Mesopotamia population AND Gulf Arabian region (Arabia) political boundaries do not constitute the entire Arab ethnic group. Just as the entire Korean and Japanese and Chinese political boundaries do not constitute a single ethnicity. Additionally, this simplistic estimation does not correlate with modern genetic patterns that correlate with regional ethnic differentiations. I understand that the "Arab" page on wiki also is inaccurate by combining all people born and raised in this vast combined area (Arabic-dialect speaking region) as "Arab" ethnically. Pan-ethnicity is not ethnicity, since pan-ethnicity is the term used on the Arab page (another simplistic explanation) and another weak excuse for inaccuracy. I hope to work to update these inaccuracies. In the meantime, the population of the Gulf Arab region and the Bedouin population in general. People of the Near East and North Africa and the Mesopotamian region (excluding Kurds should not be bunched together in this count. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Funhouse5050 (talkcontribs) 17:50, 29 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Childrens Hospital edit

[edit]

Hello. You reverted an edit made to a Childrens Hospital character list to remove a quote I added; I did so because it illustrates the character's personality somewhat, as well as the general tone of the show. Thinking on it, it may have looked like vandalism, but that is literally what the character said. 116.90.80.201 (talk) 08:33, 20 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Moving magnet and conductor problem

[edit]

Thanks for the reply, I do understand that no reference exist. However, Maxwell clearly shows that all magnetic fields are created by currents and any change of q, change in i all relate to charge. The thought experiment is not provable with necessary and sufficient conditions based upon Maxwell. Also, the Michelson and Morley experiment only shows with a given source, upon the planet earth the speed, that light speed seems constant within the listed reflections and transmission. The experiment does not reconcile why there is no delta frequency nor define the velocity of the wave-front in all directions, nor show the multiple possibilities, i.e. self reference. Note also that Einstein did not have access to the optics, such as a Gaussian wave moving through an in-homogeneous media. The later makes his theory unnecessary, the necessary and sufficiency conditions for proof using the perihelion of Mercury is not proof.

Also Newton did not have atomic physics, which gives rise to the definition of mass as only some function of the charge distribution. This gives rise to gravity as unnecessary. Therefore, a proof using existing knowledge is the hidden physics and hidden particles, etc. Einstein's faulty reasoning? QED

I can give the math, but do understand, there is no math. Best I have is Maxwell with a funny definition for epsilon zero using mass. I think there is a provable relationship to mass and particle count using only the electron and proton and the neutron as a combination.

Just wanted to highlight that the reasoning is not based upon Formal Logic. I'm OK if you choose to shoot me down. For me, theoretical physics is only a hobby, not my profession. With an MS in EE, I do understand when I'm handed something that does not taste correctly.

Hi, and thanks for getting in touch. If I undid your edit, it was probably due to it being unsourced. Feel free to re-edit the article - it sounds like it would really benenfit from your expertise, but please make sure you reference your work thoroughly and don't engage in "essay style" or opinion, as it will not stand up to scrutiny from other reviewers. Please see WP:CITE for further information. Mediavalia talk 10:39, 15 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Our Lady of Holy Cross College

[edit]

How were my edits not constructive? I updated all the Louisiana college and university pages with an updated rankings infobox. The Washington Monthly and USNWR rankings were sourced as part of the rankings template. I also think it's notable that OLHCC does not sponsor athletics as it is on the only Louisiana 4-year college or university that does not sponsor athletics. Toyota Opa

[edit]

Hello Mediavalia, I wanted to activate my account for uploading an image. To do this, I read the instructions in Wikipedia and it told me that I should have atleast 4 edits. About the reference, It's based on personal use as I have an Opa. I also signalled that it was just a minor edit. Sorry for any inconvenience. I have no idea how this talk works, but I just wanted to say that the page on "salt bridges" contains some serious errors. I made a note about that on the page, but somebody removed that note so that many people now get the totally wrong impression about saltbridges. I do not know how to find out who is the author of that page. perhaps somebody who understands this Wiki system better than I do can inform the 'salt bridge' author about http://swift.cmbi.ru.nl/teach/B2/bioinf_10.html?

Revision question

[edit]

I will use the Sandbox in the future. There was no malice in my revision; simply a newbie trying to learn to contribute to Wikipedia. :) I would appreciate if you could remove the user warning for unconstructive editing found using STiki as I think that warning is not warranted. What does the warning mean anyway and how does the warning system work? Thanks. Pbbryant (talk) 04:35, 30 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Your December 2014 message to me regarding "vandalism"

[edit]

Hi Mediavalia, Regarding your warnings on my user talk page: I am not a spambot, a vandal, nor am I a destructive user. Somehow my account was compromised starting from April of 2013. Since then, I have hardly used Wikipedia. After trying to log on yesterday (19.03.2015) and realizing the account had been blocked, and after a whole day of trouble-shooting with the help of nice Admins, it seems that things are almost back to normal. I will, therefore, be cleaning up my user talk page, as the myriad warnings and threats do not pertain to any activity that I, myself, have engaged in. Alternatively, if you would prefer to delete your comments yourself, that would be great. Thank you!CissterSledge (talk) 10:02, 20 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Glad to hear it and that you managed to get your account blocks lifted. Look forward to your contributions to our project. Mediavalia talk 14:26, 24 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Recent edit to ITC (company)

[edit]

Then do you think that these companies are innocent babies? They are scoundrels, and if you support them you too are a scoundrel. That's all I have to say.

Hello, and thank you for your recent contribution. I appreciate the effort you made for our project, but unfortunately I had to undo your edit because I believe the article was better before you made that change. Feel free to contact me directly if you have any questions. Thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.95.4.100 (talk) 15:08, 29 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I am extremely sorry.

cranial nerves

[edit]

I do have my feelings on the Development section in the CN Talk Pages. And I have had extensive exchanges with the person who originally wrote this page (LTC) about this section and he agreed that there is little useful information in this section. I intend eventually to put something about Development at the end. As it was written it was laden with errors and was impossible to follow. I will try to be more descriptive of my intentions in the future. FYI, I have taught cranial nerve anatomy in a medical school for 34 years. Anatomyczar (talk) 15:30, 29 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Jo Harman

[edit]

my apologies for not understanding exactly how wikipedia works . However the Jo Harman page still contains false information , 99% of refs don't show anything relevant and is deliberately advertising Jo Harman . I reality this article is written by her manager Mark Ede or Doomclause . Please explain how it is acceptable to remove my proposal of dubious information and yet completely ignore the fact that this article is full of fake references and is an obvious promotion . Could you possibly concern yourself with the actual accuracy of the article at all and tell me how I correctly draw attention so that a dodgy wikipedia article can either removed or made to reflect fact . Thanks and my apologies I know little about wiki just surprised and disappointed that such inaccurate promotional material is allowed to persist . 37.9.61.18 (talk) 09:58, 20 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

biographies of living persons violation

[edit]

The following content on ludo campbell-reid must be removed immediately as it breaches biographies of living persons violation and contains deliberately contentious material which is potentially libelous or harmful.

Selected Filmography[edit source | edit] The King and I (1956) King Mongkut of Siam

The Ten Commandments (1956) Ramses

Other Life Achievements[edit source | edit] While on holiday in Homer, Alaska, Cambpell-Reid rescued a 4-day old baby seal from certain death.

While on another holiday in Zimbabwe, Campbell-Reid transformed a Shona village, eliminating the clutter of individual musha huts with "shared spaces," communal musha where the goats of many farmers could rest.

While on yet another holiday in Mexico City, Campbell-Reid established an orphanage for children growing up in cluttered homes.

Trivia[edit source | edit] Campbell-Reid's favourite colour is mauve.

Campbell-Reid's favourite food is soup. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Albertwashere (talkcontribs) 03:18, 22 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free images on userpages

[edit]

Hi Mediavalia. Just wanted to let you know that I commented out File:Java_logo.png from your userpage. The logo is a non-free image and each usage of a non-free image must be satisfy all 10 of the criteria listed in WP:NFCCP because such images are considered by Wikipedia to be protected by copyright. Criterion No. 9 (WP:NFCC#9) states that non-free content may only be used in the article namesepace, so this means no displaying of the image on userpages, talk pages, templates, etc. If you wish to discuss the image, then you can link to it like I've done above (See WP:COLON). If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me here or post at WP:MCQ or WP:FFD. -- Marchjuly (talk) 12:27, 2 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Marchjuly, thanks for the message. I work for Oracle Corporation and Java is a trademark of our organization. If I were to make it clear on my userpage who my employer is, would I be allowed to use it then? Thanks! Mediavalia talk 16:00, 4 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Mediavalia. I really don't think such a statement would make a difference at all. As I stated in above, all 10 of the non-free content criteria need to be satisfied for each use and I don't see how a valid non-free use rationale could be written for using such a logo on any userpage. Now, if you were to get your company to agree to freely license their logo (see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission and Wikipedia:Declaration of consent for all enquiries), then the logo would no longer be considered to be non-free and could be used pretty much anywhere on Wikipedia. You can always ask for the opinions of others at WP:FFD or WP:MCQ if you wish, but I'm pretty sure they'll say the same thing. -- Marchjuly (talk) 21:26, 4 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding Ranveer Singh Jamwal's page

[edit]

Hi, I had removed all content from this page as Lt Col Ranveer Singh Jamwal had requested me to do that. Since he is a serving officer, some of the information needs to be cleared by relevant authorities. Once that is done, he'll share the approved version with me and I will upload the information again. I don't mind if you delete the page completely as it may take a while to get an approved version.
