Media Temple
[edit]Editing articles with the same name as your username looks somewhat suspicious. Please do not edit articles if they are about a company that you've worked for. Toytown Mafia (talk) 20:39, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
Articles for Deletion
[edit]Hi there. There is a Proposed deletion tag on the Media Temple article. This is different from an Articles for Deletion tag, and does not mean the article should be listed with the AfDs.-- JediLofty UserTalk 10:32, 6 August 2008 (UTC)
- I think he meant to use AfD, anyway as article creator removed the PROD I've put it up for procedural Afd at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Media Temple suggest this user comments there -Hunting dog (talk) 10:57, 6 August 2008 (UTC)
Sockpuppetry case
[edit]You have been accused of sockpuppetry. Please refer to Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/Mediatemple for evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with notes for the suspect before editing the evidence page. Euryalus (talk) 03:48, 7 August 2008 (UTC)

- I am issuing a warning per your sockpuppetry and votestacking. Normally, this would merit a block with a duration oft no less than a day. Since it's impossible for an IP address to create a page (due to technical restrictions) and you admitted the correlation of the IP and have shown remorse. From now and onwards, you should always login because you have an account here. Trying to manipulate polls with multiple votes is frowned upon. I let you off this time on the condition that you promise to use solely this account and not the IP address account. OhanaUnitedTalk page 21:30, 7 August 2008 (UTC)
- It was not my intention to manipulate polls. If I had, I would have asked some of my collegues to vote in this case. Thank you Mediatemple (talk) 08:21, 8 August 2008 (UTC)
- But the evidence is very clear that you voted twice, whether that is your intention or not. OhanaUnitedTalk page 22:42, 9 August 2008 (UTC)

From this change you made [1] it would appear that part of your reason for wishing to get the Scala, Inc page deleted is to use the Infochannel name for another company. If this is the case the correct method would be to have article for the company at Infochannel but include disambiguation text at the top like;
- For the software product see Scala, Inc
Or if more than two pages need to use the same name to make "Infochannel" into a disambiguation page and call the company article Infochannel (company) or similar.
However, I'm not sure that the company Infochannel is any more notable than the other pages you have proposed for deletion, I would therefore recommend that you create the page you are considering making at User talk:Mediatemple/Infochannel complete with references to reliable independent sources and then seek an admin's approval before trying to post it in the main article space. Thanks - Hunting dog (talk) 20:01, 9 August 2008 (UTC)
The AfD I listed for you
[edit]Hi, you don't need to do anything more to it now. If you need to do it again in the future see How to list pages for deletion. Cheers! -- roleplayer 23:30, 10 August 2008 (UTC)
test my signature (mt)mediatemple® 08:50, 14 August 2008 (UTC)
- QUESTION: Does anybody know, why the talk-page-link in my signature does not work?
- ANSWER: Yeah, this is the only page where you have tried to use your new signature. But on this page it is a self reference; so it doesn't generate a link. (Try putting a signature on your user page: There the talk-page-link should work, but user-page-link should not.) —teb728 t c 03:48, 12 April 2009 (UTC)
Your username
[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia!
I hope not to seem unfriendly or make you feel unwelcome, but I noticed your username, and I am concerned that it might not meet Wikipedia's username policy for the following reason: It appears to be associated with a company, Mediatemple GBR. After you look over that policy, could we discuss that concern here?
I'd appreciate learning your own views, for instance your reasons for wanting this particular name, and what alternative username you might accept that avoids raising this concern.
You have several options freely available to you:
- If you can relieve my concern through discussing it here, I can stop worrying about it.
- If the two of us can't agree here, we can ask for help through Wikipedia's dispute resolution process, such as requesting comments from other Wikipedians. Wikipedia administrators usually abide by agreements reached through this process.
- You can keep your contributions history under a new username. Visit Wikipedia:Changing username and follow the guidelines there.
If the international IT company you work for is Mediatemple GBR, then the username is certainly inappropriate. —teb728 t c 04:26, 12 April 2009 (UTC)
Names should not be offensive, disruptive, promotional, misleading, or related to a "real-world" group or organization. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account.
Please choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines. However, do not create a new account if you wish to credit your existing contributions to a new name through a username change. To request a username change:
- Add
{{unblock-un|your new username here}}
on your user talk page. You should be able to edit this talk page even though you are blocked. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "E-mail this user" on their talk page. - At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
- Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a list of names that have already been taken. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
- Add
{{unblock|Your reason here}}
below, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. Cirt (talk) 18:14, 4 October 2009 (UTC)
