Women in STEM fields
[edit]Hi! I wanted to give you an explanation as to why I removed your addition to the article on women in STEM fields. The main two reasons for this would be that you did not source your addition and it was written in an essay-like fashion as opposed to a neutral encyclopedia article.
You definitely have a strong, commendable passion for the topic - and for no small reason either, as anyone who has read about women in STEM fields can tell you! (So much sexism has been reported...) However one of the key things to remember with writing an encyclopedia article is that the reader should not be able to tell what your personal stance is on the matter. Be careful with claims, as all claims must be explicitly backed up with a reliable source that specifically makes that claim. Even then a claim needs to be carefully written so that it is represented as a claim present in the cited source as opposed to a conclusion drawn from something hinted on or related to the source.
I just feel that the content is too much of an essay to really fit in the article at this point in time. Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 19:39, 29 September 2017 (UTC)
